"The job went extremely well. Eli Dagan and his team were fabulous! Eli was great at answering any questions and keeping me up to date throughout the entire project. Eli helped me design the house and bought his engineering and design team to help me with anything I needed. Eli then pulled the permit and he took care of everything throughout the entire project, without any headache to me. His team were professional, clean, and very nice throughout the project, even though I changed things a couple of times. I would recommend Eli and his tam to everyone and will definitely be working with him in the future!"

"Raz and his crew at Brother and Brother exceeded our expectations. They got the job done within the stated timeline which was key. The price was the best quoted and the quality of the finished product is excellent! It was easy to communicate via text or call, what we wanted and expected. If we had any questions on materials or any changes to be made, they were quick to respond at any time, day or night. The whole crew was polite and easy to work with. Being that the job was the kids' bathroom remodel, they kept the worksite clean everyday after they were done. They adjusted the mirror to accommodate the faucet and gave suggestions to the paint and glass tile niche when we were unsure. Again, their timeliness was spot on; they started the job right away and finished on time. They had permits and inspections planned to very well, and we were notified well in advance when to expect any visits. So happy with the overall quality of the work, ease of communication, and fair price of the whole remodel. Would do it all again in a heartbeat! Thank you, Raz, for the best experience possible. Hope to work with you again in the future!!!"

"The project started out well with a timely visit by the sales rep and a promise of quick installation - by mid June. After that there was poor follow-up - the flooring supervisor did not come out to check on the measurements as promised (and in fact never came out to check on the progress of the job) and there was a significant delay in ordering the material which continued to push back the installation date. Once the material was ordered there was confusion as to who would be doing the installation, carpet and vinyl by one installer; delivery of laminate by another installer who was told what the plan was for the laminate and then the supervisor wanted to change installers from Friday to Monday. The sales rep told us we could have a pattern installed in our foyer and then when the installer came out and was already installing the floor, we found out the two colors of laminate were different styles and not compatible in thickness and that the pattern promised was not appropriate for the method of installation. We had to change what we originally wanted to do. The installation of the laminate was originally not up to our approval and had to be pulled up and reset and there are still joints that are not clean and may cause problems down the road. Also in the kitchen there was confusion over whether or not the cabinets needed to be in or out and this caused extra work pulling and resetting the cabinets. The was also a flaw in some of the vinyl but since this was in a closet we left it go and took a price adjustment for the faulty material. Minor thing but the carpet installer failed to cut out the opening for the heating vent. Because of all the problems, we did get several price adjustments over the course of the ordeal. We are supposed to have a full warranty on this project so will see how that works if there are problems in the future.

After getting the flooring finished, we could finally get the countertops taken care of and things went much more smoothly. The countertop installer was prompt and came out to do the measurements. The material was ordered and came in quickly. The installation crew did a good job on their part of the project. However what should have been finished by the end of June at the latest, because of the flooring issues,  ended up taking till August.

We also were supposed to get cash rebates after the job was completed and we had to repeatedly follow up to get this taken care of correctly. We specified the cash rebate up front when ordering and then received a gift card instead. It took a while to finally get this taken care of as well.

Overall we were disappointed in the performance by Sears."

"Excellent work. I was surprised how quick and efficient the crew was. They didn't try to upsell us on anything and gave us advise on how to fix a couple things ourselves so it wouldn't cost us an arm and a leg. I will be calling Jesus and his team at Wall2Wall construction again for our future home needs. They rock. They did exactly what they said they would do within the time frame they gave and were spot on with the estimate. Thank you!"

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

Water can seep into porous materials like wood beams, floor joists, and roof rafters within minutes, but they’ll need to see prolonged exposure before you have structural damage. Mold can start growing within 24 hours, and mold can eat away at the structural components over time. Wood rot is more of a concern, though. Wet and dry rot are fungal infections that set in in moist conditions and rapidly deteriorate wood, causing major structural damage within just a few months in some cases.

The primary reason homes have crawl spaces is so the foundation can reach down below the frost line to avoid dangerous soil movement and structural damage when the ground freezes. They’re more popular in colder climates where the ground freezes down to a few feet, and slabs are most popular in warmer areas where there is no frost line. Crawl spaces also provide a space for utility lines to run where they’re at less of a risk of freezing.

Structural engineers are necessary for projects involving alterations to load-bearing structures, foundation work, and compliance with safety standards. This includes home expansions, retaining walls, and significant repairs that impact a property's integrity.

Yes, you can build over a stump if the roots are no longer alive. Living roots will continue to grow and may damage your new construction over time. Similarly, you should also remove rotting stumps because they may continue to attract pests and even cause new structures (especially those made from wood) to decompose as well.

Yes, professionals reinforce the foundation with additional supports or piers to prevent future sinking.
