"How'd it go? It went well, really well.
From my first contact with Herb Thalen I felt I could trust him. He has a friendly way about him, and he addressed my concerns easily and patiently. He gave me his opinion regarding my color choices, and we discussed schedules. I was not under a tight time schedule; thus, I was able to give Herb a wide window in which to chose his time, but he got the job done within two weeks of our intial meeting.
It was important to me to have someone working on my home that I liked, and the other individuals who worked with Herb were also equally careful, respectful, pleasant and friendly. One day they were working in 106 degree heat, and I did not hear one complaint.
The job took three days from start to finish. There were no paint splatters, my plants were draped and unharmed, and the house looks remarkable.
Herb gave me an estimate, and he did not change it. I would not hesitate to recommend Thalen Painting as a provider. He is a really nice man, and a fine craftsman.

"The provider showed up on time as promised. After about 40 minutes the service guy was wrapping up and had to ask him to redo some sections that were clearly not clean. Also missed stairs completely. They did finish it up and final job was fine. Had some trouble communicating with service guy as his English was limited. Wasn't terrible but wouldn't use again.

"They were very prompt with the estimate and with getting the job done. They worked hard and got it all done in about 2 days which was much less time than we were expecting. The quartz installation and sub-top work was all very well done. They were also quite careful with the demolition to avoid damage to adjacent areas. There was some minor plumbing hookup left for me to do at the end, but I had been notified of this up front in the estimate. One recommendation I would have is to use some form of dust collection if possible when cutting the slabs outside. This process produces a lot of fine dust."

"Jose the owner of the company did the work himself with one assistant (Nick). He used the latest in carpet shampooers that provides deep cleaning, it does an outstanding job. It's not the old style vacuum cleaner looking device but resembles a floor waxing machine that is very efficient.. 
Jose proved knowledgeable, respectful and very open to all of my questions.
Yes, I would recommend his service to anyone and certainly will have him back for the return service I will require in the next 18 months.
