"

CFD was very punctual and professional throughout the process.  They allowed us to take a ton of samples home to view and offered helpful insight that allowed us to narrow down to the right choice for our home quickly without feeling pressured.

During the prep and install process they worked quickly and picked up after themselves each day until complete.  The end result showed great attention to detail and looks great.

Although the final price was probably 20% higher than the initial estimate, we couldn't be happier with the end result based on their recommendations for type of flooring and meticulous attention to detail during the installation. Would recommend them to anyone.

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

You can use a carpet patch to replace a single section of carpet. You’ll cut out the damaged section and then replace it with a caret patch. The patch should be the same color as the existing carpet. You can also hire a professional carpet repair company to get it done.

You can get away with stretching the carpet with some remaining items of furniture, so long as you have ready access to the parts of the carpet that require maintenance and you are not stretching through the furniture, as this leads to tears and fraying. Try to remove at least 50% of the furniture if you can’t remove it all.

If you don’t put padding under your carpet, the carpet won’t be protected from wear on the underside. This could result in a shorter life span for your carpet and increased carpet repair costs over time. An unpadded carpet can also be less comfortable to walk on, depending on your subfloor and the type of carpet.

Typically, it takes a few hours, depending on the extent and area of repairs needed.

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.
