"They did a great job. Once you make up your mind with what you want, the guys come in and in less than a week it is slam dunk cleaned up and done. They ripped out the old flooring and tear up the old tiles and the demolition was definitely an A experience because the house is over 20 years old. They were well experienced on how to do that. They knocked it right out and kept everything clean. So, that was all good and they did over 1,000 feet of flooring for us. Their price was very competitive and they were very responsive. They were everyday on the phone asking us what we want and we asked them for their expertise and we asked them how things would look like floor boarding and stuff like that. They had all the experience for that and it really worked out well. They did some work across the street with our neighbor so we talked to them and they liked their services and we had been jumping around for over a year on different companies and California Flooring & Design came through really good."

"Absolutely wonderful!!  From the girls in the office to the 2 guys that came and cleaned the carpets.  They were nice as can be and very professional.  I had a few special requests as my carpets were very dirty and hadn't been cleaned in a long time.  When they were finished they looked brand new, they finished in a timely manner and were very polite, not to mention they weren't over priced!!!.  I would 100% recommend this company to anyone looking for a local carpet cleaning company in San Diego."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

If you want to save money on carpet repairs, there are a few ways to save without sacrificing quality. Some options you have include:

  • Cleaning set-in stains by renting a steam cleaner or using DIY carpet cleaning methods

  • Prepare the area for repairing yourself, such as moving furniture, to avoid unnecessary fees.

  • Protect high-traffic areas with a runner rug to avoid excessive wear and tear.

Carpet glue is very sticky, but it's not permanent. The glue usually lasts as long as a typical carpet installation, which is five to 15 years. For the best results, you should always use the right type of carpet glue for the area you're using it in. There are carpet glues for high-traffic areas, which are more high-quality and durable than others.

Hiring a pro to stretch a carpet costs anywhere from $100 to $300, though this price increases if you also task the contractor to remove and replace the furniture from the room. Doing it on your own maxes out at $100, though renting the power stretcher and knee kicker extend the cost in some instances.

Standard padding works like a sponge. It absorbs liquid, soaking up every drop of moisture that hits it. Moisture barrier padding does the opposite because it has a waterproof coating made of plastic film, rubber, or treated foam. It doesn’t absorb spills and keeps them on the surface instead, so you can clean them up before they damage your subfloor.

You can expect your carpet protection to last about six months to two years. It will last longer in low-traffic areas (compared to busy areas, where your carpet experiences more wear and tear). Once the protector wears off, you’ll need to call your carpet contractor to reapply the stain protection treatment and revive your carpet
