From the moment we walked in their store, the salesperson remembered us from last year.  He showed us carpet samples and advised us on choice of pad.  Heibat came out to measure and gave us the estimate promptly.  Their estimate was considerably lower in price than another company for the exact same product--Mohawk carpet, upgraded pad and baseboards.  The installers arrived on time, were courteous, and did a wonderful job.  We love our new carpet and baseboards.

California Flooring and Design is the company I would recommend to anyone needing new flooring in the San Diego area.   

They are knowledgeable, have great products, and their sales and installation teams are professional, competent, and thorough.

CFD was very punctual and professional throughout the process.  They allowed us to take a ton of samples home to view and offered helpful insight that allowed us to narrow down to the right choice for our home quickly without feeling pressured. 

During the prep and install process they worked quickly and picked up after themselves each day until complete.  The end result showed great attention to detail and looks great.

Although the final price was probably 20% higher than the initial estimate, we couldn't be happier with the end result based on their recommendations for type of flooring and meticulous attention to detail during the installation. Would recommend them to anyone.

Went fairly smoothly and finished in 7 days.  This was 2 days longer than expected due to the difficulty in removing the tile. However they came on Saturday and Sunday to finish the job.  On the last day, the foreman complained about his workers not stepping up to help finish the job, but the job got done and the floor looks great.

I contacted CFD for an estimate on pulling up carpeting and refinishing the underlying hardwood in my living room and hallway.  I was referred to CFD by my contractor based on his prior positive experience working with floor refinisher "Sam."  CFD promptly sent estimator Heibat to my home.  While Heibat was measuring the living room, I inquired as to whether CFD also performed services for tear-out/rebuilding of interior stairs and replacement of molding and trim throughout the house.  He responded 'yes,' completed the measurement of the living room, and then we proceeded to discuss the stair removal project.  I advised Heibat that the steps were  currently 7 inches deep and I wanted to rebuild the stairwell with one less step in order to achieve an 8 inch depth on each step.  He kept asserting that a rebuild would not be needed as CFD could simply place a deeper tread atop each step.  I replied that the deeper tread would help walking up the stairs, but going downstairs would not be improved as my calf would be scraping the longer bullnose.  We went back and forth on the topic, and then Heibert advised me that he would schedule and estimator to come out to my home.
So here's the deal:
1) Why didn't Heibert measure the hallway in order to provide me with a quote for the hardwood floor refinishing?
2) What would a second estimator do that Heibert could not?
Three months have passed since Heibert came to my property and I never received a follow-up communication from CFD.  I ended up selecting Ocean Flooring to do the work (for the $11,000 cost listed above), and they did an impeccable job.

Incredibly easy. Heibat at the showroom showed us the most economical laminate as the flooring was for a rental. No effort to up sell. It was only a couple of days later when he came to the unit to give an estimate and the work was done the following week within 3 days. The floors and baseboards look wonderful. The transitions are smooth. Our realtor came to look at the unit and was very impressed with the look of the laminate and definitely felt that it added value.

They were priced competitively, were professional and helpful. Installers were polite and the floors look wonderful!

Excellent Value and service.  We are very happy with our new wood floor.  We bought the wood and glue over a month ago and waited until the rest of the room was ready before installation.  CFD was there within a week of our call.  They were very flexible and did a nice job on the installation.

The purchasing experience was very pleasant from beginning to end.  Chihiro and Navid estimated the cost, came to our home and measured, brought samples they thought we might like and answered many questions concerning the recommended installation methods.  They are both very friendly, informative, and professional.  We made our flooring choice, and they were able to begin the installation during the week we requested.  The installation crew arrived on time, took great care in moving our furniture to the garage, put protective plastic in areas to keep the dust confined.  Octavio, the head installer was very conscientious, and when issues arose, kept us informed of additional costs for leveling, sealer, etc.  He was a perfectionist, paying  attention to the finest details.  The job was completed even earlier than promised.  We love our new floors.  We had received an estimate from another flooring company for comparable product, and the estimate was $3000 more than our final cost with California Flooring and Design.  I would highly recommend them. 

They did a great job. Once you make up your mind with what you want, the guys come in and in less than a week it is slam dunk cleaned up and done. They ripped out the old flooring and tear up the old tiles and the demolition was definitely an A experience because the house is over 20 years old. They were well experienced on how to do that. They knocked it right out and kept everything clean. So, that was all good and they did over 1,000 feet of flooring for us. Their price was very competitive and they were very responsive. They were everyday on the phone asking us what we want and we asked them for their expertise and we asked them how things would look like floor boarding and stuff like that. They had all the experience for that and it really worked out well. They did some work across the street with our neighbor so we talked to them and they liked their services and we had been jumping around for over a year on different companies and California Flooring & Design came through really good.

Greg and his crew were very professional and courteous.  Greg did an outstanding job of working with us and being patient as we worked to get just the right amount of distress in our flooring.  Our floors look beautiful and while the installation took about a day longer than estimated, I would rather have it done right the first time and have it take a bit longer and Ca Flooring and Design did it right!!

We were referred to California Flooring by friends doing a remodel. We liked their laminate flooring choice. They'd dealt with Heibat at California Flooring. We visited the showroom, chose the same flooring, arranged for an estimate of materials and pricing bid. Flooring was one of our last items in a full remodel of a 1200 sf condo. The crew discovered that settling had affected the floors in the unit and we needed to float a leveling layer. They came in on weekends and holiday eves in order to get the material in and meet our deadlines. We needed some follow-up due to miscommunication between our kitchen installers and CF's crew which was handled quickly and to our satisfaction. Transitions, baseboard adjustments, trim, meeting underlayment requirements, and cleanup all met our expectations. 
We also used their sister company for our bathroom tile enclosures and flooring although we used another installer. Another good experience. Price, delivery, and order completion were top notch.

The crew removed the old carpeting and baseboards and hauled it all away in one day. All flooring , baseboards and materials were delivered while painting of the areas was being completed. The whole installation job from start to finish was completed in three days.Gregg Rinder (estimater/manager) was extremely helpful in all phases, directing us to the company showroom, assisting in the selection and Quoting a great price for a great job. We will use this company in the future and will reccommend always. Everyone from the tearout/removers to the showroom staff to the installers were experienced and professional.
