"Jay's Small Moves was punctual and arrived right on time at 8am, which I was extremely surprised about especially since it was a Saturday. I was worried about the items that couldn't be put in a box (i.e. large lamps, computer tower, bathroom mats, etc.), but they have large "speed-pak" boxes where they carefully pack the "loose" items in. The team had lots of blankets (for the TV, mirrors, etc.) and shrink wrap (for desks, futon, sofa, etc.). We didn't have our bed disassembled before they arrived, but not to worry because one of the movers did it for us. They have the tools and they are very well experienced because one person disassembled the bed within 10-15 minutes. Needless to say I was impressed. Packing took around a little over a hour and a half and getting to the house took around another half hour. Upon arrival at the house, the team was quick to unload, but also extremely careful about not scratching the walls or leaving any scuff marks on the wood floor. The bed frame was reassembled within 10 minutes (*mind blown*) and they finished unloading within 45 minutes or so. While unloading, they were very attentive to where boxes need to go (boxes labeled kitchen went to the kitchen, etc.). All in all, my wife and I were very surprised at the efficiency and professionalism of the workers. While they are priced $10/hr higher than other movers, I would gladly pay the additional money for the level of service. **As a side note, we provided 3 cold bottles of water for the team - I think this goes a long way!"

"All Service Moving was exceptional. Great customer service - easy to schedule and flexible. Royce & Frost did an AMAZING job moving all of our very heavy and fragile belongings. They handled all of our requests and items with care and worked both efficiently and quickly. They were super friendly and very customer service oriented. I can't thank them enough for the GREAT job they did. I highly recommend All Service Moving for anything moving and/or storage related. And DEFINITELY request Royce & Frost to handle your job. "Excellent! Before my long-distance move was complete I started recommending Hauling Moses to a work colleague who's also moving. The is my 5th long-distance move and it was by far the most professional. The quote I received before my move was the price I paid and not a penny over. That was amazing all on its own. The guys were professional and kind. They took great care of my stuff. Communication was great. I will use them when I move again!"

"These guys are the best movers I have ever dealt with. They are professional, responsive and they really do care about moving you with the least amount of stress. They moved a 3 story Laboratory over 2 days for me. 4 truckloads of very sensitive lab analyzers and not one scratch or dent. From the office personnel to the moving crew these guys are without a doubt the best. If you need to move anything I would highly recommend Hauling Moses !! I will use them for any future moves without hesitation."

Moving questions, answered by experts

It’s typically more cost-effective to move a building along with its accessories than to demolish and rebuild it from scratch. However, that’s only if you can move the accessories without damaging them. However, if you plan to demolish the accessories anyway, it is advisable to do so before the move to save costs.

Surprisingly, no! For most house moves, you can keep everything inside as is, although we’d recommend taking out any sentimental or extremely fragile items. You’ll need to fully empty your basement or crawl space, but otherwise, your home can be moved with everything intact. Your movers will also be able to provide you with further guidance.

Using moving pods is generally cheaper than hiring a full-service moving company, primarily because you handle the packing and loading yourself, which eliminates labor costs. The cost savings are most significant for long-distance or cross-country moves; for local moves, hiring a moving company might be the more economical option. Renting and shipping moving pods can cost between $2,000 and $5,000, depending on factors like distance, the number of containers, and the weight of your items. Some services also charge a monthly rental fee of $75 to $200. In comparison, hiring a professional moving company for a long-distance move typically costs between $2,700 and $10,000.

Typically, local moves involve either renting a moving truck and moving yourself or hiring local movers to do the job. For long-distance moves, options include hiring a full-service moving company that handles packing, loading, transportation, and unloading, or using a self-moving service where you load your belongings into a container or trailer and have it transported. Another option is hiring professional movers for labor-only services, where they assist with loading and unloading your rented truck. You can also opt for moving pods or moving containers that can be transported to the destination.

The best way to pack mirrors is to use specially padded cartons or boxes made for mirrors. Be sure to thoroughly wrap the fragile mirror in padded paper or bubble wrap before sliding it into its box. That way, there’s a protective barrier in between the mirror and the box. Then, fill in any gaps with crumpled paper or additional packing materials.
