"The owner of this company is Nato, a native of my father's home state in Mexico, Zacatecas. I called Nato and asked for an estimate twice. Once because I needed a fence rebuilt and once because I wanted my patio done. Both times, Nato was very professional and helpful. He came up to the East Bay from the peninsula, was on time for the estimate appointment and got back to me very quickly with the estimate. His estimate was not the cheapest, but still fair. I ended up going with a cheaper estimate but the other contractor took a long time to finish and did not pay attention to detail. For my next landscape need, I will hire Nato."

"Although, pictures were provided, the concern of the portion of the fence not being straight, and a text to request to straighten the fence slats, the work was not corrected and the request to walk through at the end to avoid mis communication, was also not honored. Would not recommend or hire this company, too much mis communication. Also--- the lock of the fence was initially facing the street and not the inside of the property. "Our project involved both deck construction and hardscaping, and we wanted a contractor who could do both jobs.  Based on recommendations we found on Angies’s List, we picked Highland Landscape.  We weren’t disappointed.  Lee Tavare and his crew (3 total) were in and out in just under 2 weeks, and the result is fantastic.  We wouldn’t change a thing.  Lee was very responsive to what we wanted, and all his suggestions along the way resulted in either improvements or cost savings.  The construction is first-rate, the deck is really solid.  After finally dumping an architect who wanted to design a Taj Mahal at exhorbitant cost, we couldn’t believe how easy it was to get just what we wanted.  The bid was less than we expected, and some unrelated jobs (rebuilding a fence, etc.) were done on a time and materials basis at very reasonable cost.  One thing we especially appreciated was the absence of unnecessary noise and disruption (no radios playing).  Everyone seemed focused on getting the job done.  It was a pleasure to work with them.
