"Groundwork’s did a great job on our house. Luis G was an amazing Forman with Ken H and Mark P all waterproofed under our house. They worked quickly, efficiently and thoroughly left all areas in tact and clean. Luis communicated very clearly about the all aspects of the job until it was completed."

"I only use James when I need some work done to my house. He responds fast, gets the work done quicker than just about anyone else I've ever used and seems very concerned with leaving his customers happy."

"They took about 3 weeks to complete the job instead of 1 week. I have to call them just to push this project and to come along. I also think they didn't communicate very well in timely manner. I would not use them again. But I though the bathroom in then end was good. It's good except for one of the guys damaged the door frame in the bathroom it has a 9 inch cracked through the deeply in the wood. It was significant cracked and I reached out to them to fixed it and still they didn't fixed it. I also asked them for an estimate for the small kitchen work and the price was too high."

In business since 1985

My company, PCS - Poirier Construction Services, has been in business since 1985. I have 4 licenses, 1. Finished carpentry and hardware, 2. Doors and windows, 3. General contractors license, 4. Roofing. I specialize in structural repairs and water related drainage. I know how to make homes last and do the job right the first time no matter how long it takes. I take great pride in my work and have been taught by the best! I specialize with working with older people and elderly needs. I studied under fine craftsman from Germany, Morocco, Romania, Russia, Tunisia and of course America which a lot the countries I mentioned earlier prefer to live in. I learned how to build furniture/doors/windows by hand. I studied carpentry in Israel. I then started in structural and roofing repairs. I have remodeled restaurants and hair salons, etc. For years my company did a lot of termite dry rot damage and water related claims, specialized in bathroom repair and remodeling and then later on designing the bathroom. I'm highly recommended for any modifications necessary for homes. I have every tool needed for your home/commercial needs. I have over half a million dollars worth of tools and trucks alone. I have an F-350 Dump Truck, F-350 Power Stroke Diesel Flat Bed with Specialized tools boxes, F-250 Power Stroke Diesel with specialized tool boxes. Trucks fully loaded with equipment making it necessary to never leave a job for small unnecessary reasons, not only to help the customer, but it will help the owner with prices as well. \n\nI've been with ServiceMagic for over 8 years and have over 20 years experience with craftsmanship! You won't be disappointed!\n

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Ideal humidity conditions generally range from 30% to 50%, with 45% considered optimal humidity for most homes. If your humidity levels drop below that range, you can turn your dehumidifier off. Additionally, suppose the temperature where the dehumidifier is installed falls below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. In that case, it's best to turn it off and unplug it since cooler temperatures can cause the unit's coils to freeze.

It’s not the number of weep holes that should be of concern to builders but rather their spacing. Weep holes are usually spaced anywhere between 16 inches on center when using round tubes or wicking materials and 24 inches on center when using open-head joints. This is a more conservative spacing than the 33-inch maximum spacing on center that’s mentioned in the International Residential Code. All in all, the total number of weep holes a brick exterior should have will depend on the size of the structure.

Most houses will have vents in the crawl space. This allows for air passage and energy retention, which in many ways can help control the temperature inside the home. If you are able to consider the cost of a crawl space encapsulation, you may not need your crawl space vents at all.

Brick is designed to absorb moisture, but it is also designed to let it evaporate as well. So in general, the goal shouldn’t necessarily be keeping moisture out but making sure it has the room to breathe. If you have excess moisture getting through your brick wall, it’s more likely that you have a crack or other issue at play that a typical sealant won’t fix. So, instead of investing in sealant, try repairing your brick wall instead.

A sump pump can be added to an existing basement. To do this, you will need to use a jackhammer or sledgehammer to break up the concrete and dig a pit. You will also need to create a hole in your basement wall to run the discharge pipe through.
