Customers say: Quick response

"I was under the gun, my home insurance was going to be cancelled if I didn't get the main electrical panel replaced. I thought to myself how the heck do I go about this, it turned out easy for me, because Sierra Smith Electric called, and Zeke handled everything. He understood my predicament and made time for my job and coordinated all aspects of it. He's work was professional and his price was very reasonable. Thanks again Zeke."

"Chris was great! He installed an outdoor fan for us which did not come with a remote, but he immediately had a solution to place the switch plate and had the water proof parts in his truck. He also troubleshooted some minor issues for us and gave us some great ideas for landscape lighting and timed outdoor lighting. I will be hiring him again soon!"

"I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Marc and his team. They took our dilapidated over-grown backyard and turned it into something bordering on a private park, garden and orchard. It looks amazing! Marc worked with us to trim down our initial plans and get us to a budget we felt comfortable with but was still able to deliver 99% of what we were looking for. And when the final bill came, we were less than 1% over budget, which is a win! In addition, Marc communicated at every step in the process so that we were always in the knowledge about what was going on. Marc s crew was great too! They had a smile on their faces every day and treated our property as if it was their own. They had a real pride in their work."

"For a living I buy real estate...I'm a lanlord and I deal with many different types of contractors. Some are professional and others you wish you never met. Bill and his crew are very professional and curtious. They protect everything so that nothing is damaged and they are very fast which is nice.....some contractors take all day to do what he did in about 2 hours. Bill went above and beyond the job...he convinced me to get rid of an old can light and hang a chandelier over a round japanese soaking tub. The second he recommended it I realized it was a great idea. He installed the chandelier box for me for free. His rates are very fair."

"He was extremely quick getting the project underway and he and his crew did an excellent job! I will be calling him back for other more extensive landscaping projects... I was VERY impressed with his attitude, flexibility and project completion. Gregg Novotny and the entire Foothills Landscape team did a great job landscaping our backyard! Gregg worked within our schedule and phased in the landscape plan according to our wishes and coordinated with our concrete contractor. He promptly returned our phone calls and emails, and he listened to us when we had changes and concerns. For example, when we made a mistake about the types of trees we wanted, Gregg listened to our concerns and went out of his way to make sure we got what we wanted. His team is very professional and Gregg is wonderful. We couldn't have asked for more from a landscape company! We definitely would work with him again."

"All of the outlets quit working in my 3 bathrooms plus another one in my bedroom had to be replaced. Collin from Influx Electric took care of the repairs. I was very pleased with his work. He arrived right on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He explained to me what needed to be done, made a trip to Home Depot to get the needed parts and then proceeded to complete the fixes. His charges were quite reasonable. I would definitely recommend his services and use him again."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Flickering lights, intermittent outages, or physical damage to fixtures signal immediate repair to avoid electrical hazards.

Durations range from an hour for simple jobs to full workdays for significant upgrades.

The cost of lamp repair generally ranges from $30 to $150, with an average cost of around $75. Common repairs like rewiring or replacing a switch typically cost around $60 and $80, respectively. The final price depends on factors such as the type of lamp, the complexity of the issue, and the parts required. Keep in mind that repair costs may be higher for ornate or antique lamps. It's a good practice to ask for a price quote from a professional lamp repair service to determine if the investment is worthwhile.

There are tons of different types of landscape lighting available, including the choice between solar and wired, incandescent and LED, and a variety of colors. Specific types of lighting include:

  • Pathway lights: $50–$150 per fixture

  • String lights: $50–$150

  • Low-voltage lights: $90–$150 per fixture

  • Porch lights: $65–$250 per fixture

  • Floodlights: $75–$250 per fixture

  • Downlights: $100–$400 per fixture

  • Uplights: $100–$400 per fixture

  • Security lights: $ 350–$500 per fixture

  • Lamp posts: $400–$1,100 per lamp post

You can take a few steps to prolong the life of your holiday lights. Make sure to replace burnt-out bulbs as quickly as possible to avoid overloading the rest of the circuit and knocking out more lights. Before packing them up each year, plug each strand into the wall to confirm everything is still working. Wrap the lights carefully back into their original packaging or something similar—winding a strand tightly together or leaving it to hang loose in a storage bin can lead to frayed or damaged wiring.
