"Jeremy and Joe from Nichols Electric were amazing. They came out the same day, designed and installed lighting and outlets for my garage and exterior. They even came back and moved some outlets for me in my new house. They were extremely pleasant to work with and helped me understand every step of the process. I'm definitely going to use them again on my next project."

"I’ve worked with Mike and his team for years on all kinds of projects, and they’ve always been amazing to work with. The quality of their work is top-notch, they stay on budget, and everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Their design sense is excellent and they always manage to get things done right on time. I can’t recommend them enough, truly a reliable, talented, and easy-to-work-with crew."

"Not a lot of upfront details given on the colors of poles, size of poles, look of lights etc. Team that came out was not nearly as experienced as the owner Tommy. However, they ended up turning out very well. Communication about design could have been better for the large sum we paid to hang bistro lights."

"Thank goodness I found Bramer Electric!!! I went through 4 electricians who refused to hang the chandelier in my front entrance due to the ceiling height. Chris and team made it look easy and completed the job quite quickly and thoroughly. It looks beautiful! They also installed new switches throughout the home as well as upgraded light fixtures in my kitchen and master bedroom. They hung my son’s new ceiling fan - which he loves. Every chandelier was put together perfectly and looks fantastic! I cannot recommend them more highly!!"

"I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Marc and his team. They took our dilapidated over-grown backyard and turned it into something bordering on a private park, garden and orchard. It looks amazing! Marc worked with us to trim down our initial plans and get us to a budget we felt comfortable with but was still able to deliver 99% of what we were looking for. And when the final bill came, we were less than 1% over budget, which is a win! In addition, Marc communicated at every step in the process so that we were always in the knowledge about what was going on. Marc s crew was great too! They had a smile on their faces every day and treated our property as if it was their own. They had a real pride in their work."

"For a living I buy real estate...I'm a lanlord and I deal with many different types of contractors. Some are professional and others you wish you never met. Bill and his crew are very professional and curtious. They protect everything so that nothing is damaged and they are very fast which is nice.....some contractors take all day to do what he did in about 2 hours. Bill went above and beyond the job...he convinced me to get rid of an old can light and hang a chandelier over a round japanese soaking tub. The second he recommended it I realized it was a great idea. He installed the chandelier box for me for free. His rates are very fair."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Professional repairs involve diagnosing issues, replacing components, rewiring, or repositioning fixtures to restore optimal performance.

It’s not illegal to fly an American flag at night without a light shining on it, but the U.S. Flag Code notes that it’s respectful to provide illumination. Installing a flagpole light is also common practice and will add more to your home’s curb appeal at night. Choosing a solar-powered or battery-powered light for your flag is an affordable way to provide illumination.

If you take home a pre-lit Christmas tree but want to spruce it up with blinking lights, don’t worry, there’s a simple solution. You can easily replace the light bulbs on the pre-lit tree with flashing bulbs. For a more subtle look, only replace some of the bulbs with flashing bulbs.

The cost to repair a short circuit depends on the type of repair. A faulty outlet or simple loose wire can be a simple fix that might only cost a handful of dollars. For example, if you need to rewire a house, you’ll spend around $2 to $4 per square foot, but replacing an entire electrical panel costs anywhere from $500 to $2,100.

Pool lights are designed to be safe by protecting swimmers from electrocution. These lights are made with waterproof fixtures and seals to prevent contact with the water.

Electrocution from pool lights is still possible, but rare. Faulty wiring or broken lighting equipment can make lights unsafe, so it’s important to replace lights as needed and have an electrician inspect and upgrade the wiring.
