"We recently had Mega Power Electric Inc install a solar system and panels. The President and provided excellent communication all the way through the process. He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. We are very satisfied with our solar system and I highly recommended Mega Power Electric Inc."

I am happy to report that the originally installed blinds on my rental property installed back in June, 2015 that did not allow for the 7 windows to open from the inside to be cleaned as designed has been replaced on Feb. 26, 2016 at no charge. And they look great. The service person (Steve) was professional, answered my questions and worked from 9:00am-2:00pm straight through. Although it took some time to eventually come to an agreement with the owner (Shannon  Cocagne) on how we should proceed finanically, I found Shannon in the end was reasonable and very nice and wanted to work with us to make this a good experience overall for us as her valued customer. In the end, we were able to get the blinds we wanted and the windows replaced at no additional cost. For this experience, I would recommend The Blind Guy to my family and friends. Thank you Shannon and the Blind Guy team!

"All of the outlets quit working in my 3 bathrooms plus another one in my bedroom had to be replaced. Collin from Influx Electric took care of the repairs. I was very pleased with his work. He arrived right on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He explained to me what needed to be done, made a trip to Home Depot to get the needed parts and then proceeded to complete the fixes. His charges were quite reasonable. I would definitely recommend his services and use him again."

"I sent the money and dimensions in in November 2011.  She responded back very quickly, informed me that she was very busy and wouldn't be able to start on my project for a couple of weeks.  I actually responded that that was fine.  After a month or so with no contact, i emailed.  She emailed  right back, apologized and asked for some more measurements.  I sent them.  Didn't hear anything, when in response to inquiry, she asked again for living room measurements-- that was Feb. 3rd.  On Feb. 20th, I emailed and asked for timeline.  She responded back the next day with 3 designs asking for my preference.  I emailed back on the 22nd of Feb with my preference.  On March 16th, I inquired again as to timeline for completion. Two weeks later she sent a concept board with some furnishings.  No window coverings or lights were suggested.  Three were multiple rugs with no direction of which one for each room.  All and all, not a pleasant experience.  I suspect I could have gotten better service using Pottery Barn's free design service (especially since most of the furnishings came from there.)"

Lighting questions, answered by experts

It’s not illegal to fly an American flag at night without a light shining on it, but the U.S. Flag Code notes that it’s respectful to provide illumination. Installing a flagpole light is also common practice and will add more to your home’s curb appeal at night. Choosing a solar-powered or battery-powered light for your flag is an affordable way to provide illumination.

To maintain your outdoor lighting and prevent major issues, you should regularly clean the fixtures, inspect the wiring and connections, and replace worn or burnt-out bulbs promptly. These simple steps ensure consistent operation and extend the life of your lighting system.

The five common types of landscape lighting are up-lighting, down-lighting, spotlights, built-in lighting, and pathway lighting.

  • Up-lighting casts light upwards from the ground, mostly for aesthetic purposes.

  • Down-lighting directs light onto the ground, lighting pathways, or outdoor space.

  • Spotlights cast direct, focused lighting in any direction.

  • Built-in lighting integrates lighting into an outdoor feature.

  • Pathway lighting illuminates walkways, increasing safety.

Installations include new light fixtures, upgraded panels, fixed outlets, and tracked wiring continuity.

If half of a string of Christmas lights is out, it is likely because of a single burned-out, loose, or broken bulb within that section. Long strands of lights often contain more than one circuit, so when one bulb fails, it can cause the entire circuit (or half the strand) to go dark. To fix this, inspect the unlit section and test each bulb to ensure it is tight and functioning properly. Replacing the faulty bulb or repairing a damaged shunt will typically solve the problem.
