"We wanted to get on board with the current trend in doorbell cameras. Got a quote from ADT Provider, known as Safe Street USA, and felt their offer was more than fair. We have door sensors and motion detectors inside and the doorbell camera mounted outside. Nice to feel “with the times” in home automation and security."

"Protect Your Home group with ADT has exceeding our expectations in getting a new home security system. In the end, everything was a breeze and not stressful whatsoever. We tested the siren and our neighbors 2 doors down could hear it; which is what we were hoping for!"

"The other reviews I read prior to hiring Resource One Low Voltage we re spot on! This installation of security cameras was for my new business and had to be esthetically pleasing due to the nature of the business (Day spa). They showed up on time and gave me a fair estimate. During the job they ran into several complications due to the age and style of the structure and the way the electrical had been previously installed. It was quite old. Kevin gave me options that allowed them to meet my expectations and stay within budget. Kevin is very knowledgeable and worked well with my contractors. The system was set up quickly and was beautifully done. He walked us through the steps of operating the system and it was fairly simple to understand. I even had enough left over to have him do additional work by installing a magnetic door lock which works great! A few days later I installed a cash register that caused the camera system to go off line. I called Kevin and he answered the first time I called him. He came out immediately and checked the system. He informed me that the register I had required it s own IP address that couldn t be shared with other devices due to the transactions that would occur. He quickly resolved the issue without incurring any extra cost. Very professional company, they do great work and are quick to respond to any issues. I will definitely be using them on my next venture. Thanks Resource One Low Voltage Security!"

"I needed to replace hinges to make my kitchen door self-closing. Jose showed up on time, and clearly explained what was involved in installing the new hinges (including how the tension on the hinges would alter how fast/slow the door closed). He did an excellent job and the door now works as it's supposed to."

"Showcase Window and Door installed 3 sliding glass doors and 23 windows in our 2 story home in Orange County, CA. Mark Britton advised us on window and installation types (retrofit and new build) and we went with a combination of both. His measurements were spot on and his crew was clean, efficient and professional every step of the way. Highly recommend Showcase Window & Door to get it done right!"

Security Doors questions, answered by experts

Security cameras do not need wiring if they are wireless, meaning they are battery-operated and can connect through Wi-Fi. You’ll need to change the batteries on a wireless camera and ensure you have a steady connection to Wi-Fi for video storage. If you have a wired security camera, you’ll need to plug it into an outlet or other power source and a DVR device.

It's recommended that you have an upload speed of at least 10 megabits per second (Mpbs) in order to use a wireless security camera.

Several types of deadbolts are available, including single-cylinder, double-cylinder, rim, smart, and electronic deadbolt locks. The most common type found in U.S. homes is the single-cylinder deadbolt, which uses a key on the exterior and a thumb turn on the interior. A double-cylinder deadbolt features two locking mechanisms and requires a key to be operated from both the inside and the outside.

A deadbolt differs from a regular lock in its design, construction, and security level. Regular locks are typically used for interior doors, such as for bedrooms and bathrooms, and provide minimal security. They are easy to install and use, often featuring a simple locking mechanism on the inside. In contrast, a deadbolt is one of the most secure locks you can install on an exterior door. Its internal construction is designed to withstand significant force, adding a crucial layer of security that can deter intruders. While deadbolts may be more expensive and complicated to install, they are cost-effective for the security they provide and are built to hold up to wear and tear.

Technically, there isn't a difference between safe rooms and storm shelters. Both are designed to protect you from storms and extreme weather events. People often use “safe room” when discussing a shelter inside a building and storm shelter when talking about a detached unit.

Additionally, a safe room is understood to have more functions than a storm shelter. You may seek shelter in a safe room when you believe an intruder is in the home or when under another type of threat.
