"MDTech Appliance Repair performed an excellent job in repairing my fridge. They were on-time, explained in detail the issue and repair needed, ordered the part, and promptly returned to fix the issue. I would hire them again for any appliance repair needs."

"My Expensive, built in KitchenAid refrigerator stopped working and I called AA repair. Arthur came the same day and inspected the refrigerator. Arthur was able to identify the 2 parts that broke and ordered replacements. He came back as soon as the parts came in and installed them. I have 3 kids and it was difficult managing without our main Freezer/refrigerator. Arthur came in without delay and stayed late until the job was done to get our fridge working as quickly as possible. I highly recomend Arthur and AA repairs for appliance repairs."

"This could hardly have gone better.  Our washer decided to wet itself all over the place yesterday.  Called this AM, spoke to a friendly phone rep at E-appliance, and they sent out a repairman this afternoon.  Robert arrived within the specified window and quickly found the problem (fill sensor hose had detached on the inside).  Simple fix.  No BS, no trying to sell us repairs we didn't need.  He made some recommendations for how to prevent problems in the future, and even banged out a dent that had been in the front panel of the washer for years.  Should we ever need appliance repair again, it will be an easy call.  Thanks guys!

"Our experience with Larry/Sick Appliance Repair was excellent, as was our previous experience with a dryer repair.
He is friendly, professional, very knowledgeable and capable. (Can't think of anymore positive adjectives. But, if I could, I'd use them!)
Members shouldn't hesitate to work with him."

"Bob is an exemplary professional, in all aspects. In addition to his technical knowledge and skills, his customer service was also outstanding in every possible manner. After having performed significant online research of numerous technical sites, in an effort to determine the most probable reason of our LG washer, I then spent an inordinate amount of time analyzing a copious number of expert sites and customer reviews for a myriad of appliance repair companies, I spoke with Bob regarding an “estimated” cost based on my belief of the cause(s) for the problems being experienced with our washing machine. As a result of the significant number of positive reviews on various sites, including Home Advisors and similar competitors as well as my personal conversation with Bob, I decided to make an appointment to enable him to physically examine our washer and as appropriate revise his estimate based on our phone conversation. Having been a member of the upper team at three multi billion dollar, multinational conglomerates for 30+ years and direct interaction with thousands of suppliers of both goods and services, I felt confident in selecting he and his company to perform the required worked. While observing and conversing with Bob, I found him to be an incredibly knowledgeable and highly skilled technician, who worked diligently the entire time he spent replacing the required part(s) and repairing our washer. His knowledge and skills were well complemented by his customer service (e.g. informative, communicative, honest, trustworthy, and on time, etc...). It’s important to note that Bob has a value system which was the standard for all companies and individuals, in that he made every effort to minimize cost, while maximizing performance. (The final cost was actually lower than the initial phone estimate, so although Bob was willing and able to accept my credit card, I was able to pay by check) I will highly recommend Bob and his company to all of our family and friends. In both my professional and personal observations, I have every confidence in both encouraging others to contact Bob and I will personally call Bob for any/all required appliance repairs. Most Sincerely, P.C.H."

"Alex of Alpha Appliances was professional, caring, clean and efficient. He went above and beyond to make all of my appliances work perfectly and also, to educate me on what I needed to do with the burners and pre-heating the oven to "burn off" the air. He probably saved me hours of reading the manual so Thank You Alex! I would absolutely hire him again and plan to for my other property!"

Appliance Repair questions, answered by experts

You can disable a fridge door alarm on most modern models by pressing and holding the door alarm button for three seconds. The door alarm button is located on the control panel, which is usually on the face of the door if you have a digital display or just inside one of the doors on the body of the fridge. But keep in mind that the door alarm is a helpful feature that can identify refrigerator problems and reduce your running costs, so it’s best to leave it on.

As with any smoking appliance, a smoking oven is a concerning fire risk. It also negatively impacts your indoor air quality, which can put vulnerable people at risk of breathing problems. A dirty oven can catch fire if you don’t stay on top of regular maintenance, so remember to check your oven for signs that it’s time for a cleaning and remove buildup every three months to stay on the safe side.

You may not be able to recycle certain types of electronics. Some examples of electronics that might be rejected from the recycling process are LCD televisions, LCD computer monitors, and older televisions with mercury.

Yes, hot tubs can use a significant amount of electricity, primarily to keep the water heated. A typical hot tub uses between 1,500 and 6,000 watts, and the pump can add another 1,500 watts. This usage can result in a monthly cost of around $20 to $30. The exact amount of electricity consumed depends on several factors, including the hot tub's age, size, heater voltage (120V vs. 240V), usage habits, and thermostat setting. Newer, energy-efficient models generally use less power than older ones. To reduce electricity costs, consider investing in an energy-efficient model, using a quality insulated cover with a thermal blanket, and keeping the filters clean.

The lifespan of an oven depends on its type, usage, and maintenance. On average, an electric oven lasts around 13 years, while a gas oven can last slightly longer, around 15 years. With proper care and maintenance, some ovens can reach a lifespan of 15 to 20 years.

Several factors influence longevity. An oven's lifespan is primarily determined by its build quality, total cooking hours, and the stress from temperature fluctuations. This is why a more expensive, higher-quality oven may be a worthwhile investment. Ovens are generally durable appliances because they have fewer moving parts compared to others like washing machines or dishwashers, which means less wear and tear over time.

To maximize your oven's life, it is essential to clean and maintain it properly. A deep cleaning every three months can prevent buildup and ensure it continues to work correctly.
