"Ismael Reyes provided excellent service. He replaced my water heater quickly and efficiently. He was professional, kind and courteous. And, unlike other plumbing companies, he is fair and reasonable priced. I would highly recommend him."

"Generally, it went well. I was told exactly what they were going to do before they did the work. The first day, I was taken aback at the price of the work, I assumed the original request would not be such an ordeal, so they allowed me time to consider the work and price while they fixed the toilet. I did decide to go ahead with Top Contender, and I am glad I did. They opened up the wall opposite the faucet, shower head, etc, and found rotten wood, which they replaced, cut away old pipes that were causing electrolysis, reinforced the pipes with staples(not sure of the technical terms), and patched up their work after replacing the shower head, faucet and spout. They were thorough. I had to add additional work to the kitchen faucet problem after cleaning under the sink and notice a crack on the pipe and ask if they would replace it after they fixed the faucet. The issue with the faucet was that it looked like it should have been stuck in the wall a lot further. I wanted to add tile on the wall behind the sink and the faucet stuck out of the wall. The exposed section was covered nicely and I am able to slide the piece, install the tile, and slide the piece back to the wall - problem solved. They did remove the plumbing underneath the sink with new, ABS p-trap assembly. Before they worked in the bathroom, they papered the floor from the front door through the bathroom, used any parts I had on hand, and aired out the bathroom during the entire time. They did clean up, better than most.. not perfect (but I would only notice that).."

"Ken and his staff were fantastic from beginning to end. He made the process so easy and he was always up front and transparent about the service and prices. We had our bathroom remodeled last year and the previous contractor did such a poor job, we had to have new tile installed again. The difference between the two contractors was night and day. We are so happy with how the shower turned out. We would DEFINITELY want to work with him and his company again in future."

"Installation went smoothly. I've had the system for about 5 years and I recommend it highly. The water tastes great. We don't buy water anymore. Our pipes are protected from mineral buildup. Very pleased with our purchase."

"This is the third time I've used them. The first time they straightened out another plumber's mess, and then two other events that occurred. They're very punctual; when I called them on the weekend they were still able to send someone out on the same day. They're clean, they work fast and their rates are excellent."

"I don’t even know how to begin this review for Tomer Malki from ITM Construction! Let me preface and say that my husband and I (first-time homeowners) bought a fixer-upper in the Mid-city area. The house was built in the 1920s and needed a great deal of TLC. And by that I mean a complete renovation (kitchen, bathrooms, wall removal, refinishing the hardwood floors, plumbing, electricity – you name it!). We love old, historic homes, and were looking to work with someone who could preserve our house’s integrity, while offering a modern update. We had been in touch with a handful of other contractors during escrow, all of whom made us doubt our decision to buy the house, saying, more or less, that it would be a massive, lengthy, and expensive project. After having our plans approved by the city, we met a few other contractors, but still didn’t feel like we found the right person. We finally met Tomer, which literally felt like a fresh breath of (optimistic) air! He spent over three hours carefully scrutinizing the house, offering his vision for what it could become, making suggestions that would maximize our space while minimizing our expenses, and chanting, “There are no problems. Only solutions.” After the meeting, my husband and I felt Tomer was the first and only contractor who actually made us feel like the job would get done! And that is exactly the type of attitude Tomer maintained throughout our renovation project. He was extremely communicative, arriving to the house every single day, keeping us updated on the progress, and consulting with us along the way. He’s smart, creative, easygoing, and has a sharp eye. He is such a pleasure to work with! And, I should stress, he also works with an incredible team of highly talented individuals! His team was able to recreate the patterns resembling the original plaster from the 1920s inside the house, while matching the stucco from the outside. They built a new master closet from scratch. We also bought reclaimed tiles, and we were so relieved that they were installed flawlessly. I’m talking about one hundred year old fire-glazed tiles. (We even sent photos to the company where we purchased them, and the owner said it was one of the best installations she had ever seen during her twenty years in the business.) The crewmembers were always friendly, responsive, and hard-working. And our kitchen is a dream!! Tomer helped us design the kitchen, which was a challenge, given the limitations because of HPOZ (historic city zoning). He planned a perfect layout, getting into details of the proper lighting, the placement of appliances, and the types of cabinets we would utilize the most. The cabinetry is of the finest quality, along with the beautiful granite installation. When we had ideas for how we wanted the house to be designed (and there were plenty), he always found ways to make it happen. For instance, Tomer was able to assist us with our own vision: transforming antique dressers into bathroom vanities!! He was also able to refer us to different stores with competitive prices (coupled with his contractor’s discount). After only three months of renovation, completed according to our contract, we are now living in our dream home!! The level of workmanship, the dedication, the attention to small details – all exceeded our expectations!! We wish to give Tomer our highest recommendation, and we have no doubt we will hire him for future projects! Thank you, Tomer! We sincerely appreciate all your time and effort. We couldn’t have done this without you!"

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Emergency plumbers charge a significantly higher rate than for standard service, typically 1.5 to 3 times the normal hourly cost. You can expect to pay between $100 and $500 per hour, with an average of around $200 per hour. In addition to the higher hourly rate, many plumbers charge a flat emergency service or trip fee, which can be between $150 and $300. The final cost depends on the timing of the call; prices are highest for major holidays, followed by weekends and after-hours service on weekdays. For a complex job on a major holiday, a master plumber's rate could reach as high as $600 per hour.

If your sink is on an exterior wall that isn’t insulated, or if pipes travel through a cabinet against an exterior wall that prevents heated air from circulating around the pipes, the pipes can freeze, causing them to burst. The best way to avoid leaking sinks is to insulate the pipes and open cabinets in the short term to warm the water line up and prevent freezing.

Depending on the issue and materials, costs range from $150 to $500.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

Local plumbing codes and manufacturer recommendations typically dictate the minimum distance between a sink and a dishwasher. This is generally 18 to 24 inches, providing enough room for easy loading and unloading of dishes without hindering the sink's function. Maintaining this separation not only adds convenience but also reduces the chances of water damage and optimizes plumbing connections.
