"I hired this company to design my backyard landscape and they did a fantastic job. The designer was creative and came up with a beautiful plan that incorporated all of my ideas. The installation process was seamless and the team was professional and efficient. I now have a backyard that I can be proud of and enjoy all year round. "Amazing experience. Red Eagle designed and installed our two new driveways for an old Pierson that had no front driveway (only street parking), and a gravel driveway in the back with access from the alley. Super prompt, professional and reasonable. Would be happy to have prospective customers reach out to see the work or hear how it went, which was great! We will be installing a large metal shop in the back yard soon and will need a concrete pad, will definitely be using Red Eagle again!"

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, the air from a damp basement can travel up into your living area through a process called the stack effect, so moisture, mold spores, and other debris in your basement air can all decrease your indoor air quality on your main floors. Additionally, damp basements can promote the rotting of building materials, which can damage flooring, insulation, and framing on your first floor in addition to materials in the basement.

Installing a battery backup for your sump pump is recommended, particularly if you live in an area with frequent power outages or severe rainstorms. A sump pump requires electricity to function, and a battery backup ensures it can continue to move water out of your home if the power goes out, providing crucial protection against flooding. Additionally, frequent power outages can create electrical surges that might damage the sump pump's motor. A battery backup system offers an additional layer of protection, ensuring your basement stays dry.

French drains, sump pumps, and exterior waterproofing systems are common options. Choose one that best suits your property’s needs.

The cost of basement waterproofing is $4,950 for the average homeowner. However, you could end up paying between $600 and $14,000, depending on factors like basement size, waterproofing method, and the region you live in.

If you live in an area with heavy rainfall, you might be paying more for waterproofing than if you lived somewhere drier since waterproofing contractors would be in high demand. Likewise, a 500-foot basement costs between $2,500 and $5,000 to waterproof, but that price rises significantly for a larger basement.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.
