"Finally an honest Solar company!! I went through several companies trying to get quotes for one of my properties, either they were ridiculously expensive or they didn't return my calls. A friend of mine referred me to Mega Sun and I have to say I am very pleased. Within a couple days from the initial phone call I already had an estimate and once i decided to go with them the installation was completed in one week. Its been a little over a month since they completed the install and everything is working smoothly.

I was amazed at just how great the customer service was. I just want to say thank you to the whole team who helped out, I really appreciate all your hard work. Now I know you guys are the ones to call for all future jobs."

"They were very prompt with the estimate and with getting the job done. They worked hard and got it all done in about 2 days which was much less time than we were expecting. The quartz installation and sub-top work was all very well done. They were also quite careful with the demolition to avoid damage to adjacent areas. There was some minor plumbing hookup left for me to do at the end, but I had been notified of this up front in the estimate. One recommendation I would have is to use some form of dust collection if possible when cutting the slabs outside. This process produces a lot of fine dust."

"John and his son Gavin were nothing short of fabulous. They were professional, conscientious and very efficient about ensuring everything was perfect while installing my new garbage disposer. Unlike most change-outs, my old disposer was bolted in and rusted out - (I should have taken pictures, it was awful) - which required heavy-duty cutting and a lot of extra labor. Yet in the end - there was no extra charge! These guys are a team and went above and beyond what was expected. Unreal and unbelievable. Thank you John and Gavin for being a GREAT TEAM! Very happy!"

"They responded to my call much faster than I had thought possible. They came in and were very organized and efficient. They were done with the cleanup much earlier than I anticipated, and I spent the night in my house."

"During all of this he was punctual and adhered to my schedule. The work was finished on the agreed upon date. He listened to my needs and provided opinions on the best way to complete the tasks. Best of all, the house was clean at the end of every day of work. The Flood Doctor is very conscientious of the work done by his company. He stands by his word. I will be hiring him to do further work on my house. I highly recommend the Flood Doctor for mold inspection and remediation"

"The young guy who did the work was prompt and professional, but not well trained. He power washed my patio BEFORE blowing the leaves and sticks off my roof, so all the debris landed on my just cleaned patio, and he didn't follow up to clean it off.
He forgot to do the garage door and was all packed up when he asked me to inspect, so I just let it ride.

"We needed a misting system to help cool our patio, since we had our son's 3rd birthday party happening a week later. We had John give us an estimate for approximate 120' run of misting system pipe. He told us how he would install the system to make sure it blending into the house and patio cover. He also told us the best way to hook the water to the misting system and had a great recommendation on a plumbing to do the work. Once we decided on the price, he told us he could complete the system in a single day. On the day we selected, he showed up 15 minutes before the scheduled time. He also managed the plumber who hooked it into our existing water line. When I returned home after 8 hours, the whole system was installed and hooked up to the water line. The work was extremely professional. It blended so well into the house I almost didn't notice that we had a misting system. As for the water line connection, he told me how the plumber was going to just install it with the shortest run, but it would be extremely difficult to turn the system on/off, plus cleaning out the filter would be an extreme chore. John told the guy how to place everything so we had an easy time turning it on/off and changing the filter. He came back 2 days later to pressure test the whole system and make sure everything was working correctly. We used it during our son's party and it was AMAZING. The temperature was 100 that day but under our patio it felt about 80 degrees. Everyone was comfortable. A couple days after the party, John called to see how the system worked.
John is very detailed oriented and there to make sure the customer is happy. It was a pleasure working with him and I will work with him for any future repairs.

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

As with many appliances, proper maintenance is key to maximizing your garbage disposal’s life span. If everyone in your household is on board with proper care and maintenance, like running water while operating the disposal, you should get plenty of years out of your unit. Avoid putting the wrong food items down the disposal, including pasta, rice, bread, and more.

The most common garbage disposal size in the U.S. is 1/2 horsepower. This size is ideal for households with three or fewer people or those that don't produce much food waste. Although 1/2 horsepower can't handle the typical food waste load for a household of four (which is about 250 pounds of food waste annually) as effectively as 3/4 horsepower, it remains the most common size of garbage disposal on the market.

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.

Whether it's worth repairing your garbage disposal depends on its age and the specific problem. Generally, if the unit is eight years old or younger, repair is a good option. For minor issues like a bad seal or a simple jam, a repair can be inexpensive, sometimes under $10. However, if the motor is broken (a repair that can cost $150 or more) or the unit is getting old, it's often more cost-effective to replace the entire disposal.

The main issue with garbage disposals is clogging. This can mean a clogging of the pipes that expel the food along with water, or a clogging of the mechanical parts themselves. The problem lies in the solution because you can’t easily see clogs if they’re inside the system, and reaching in to dislodge stuck items is a risky proposal. Call a pro and ask what they would do, but if you can’t see the clog easily, and running the unit won’t free it, you need to let a professional handle the fix.
