"After adding some new kitchen appliances I decided to have the marble floor redone. After getting several bids I chose California Marble because they were quick to respond, pricing was fair and the job was easy to schedule. On the day of labor Henry was on time and on point. The work was professionally done with outstanding results. I had no idea the marble floor could look that good! Calls and texts were returned quickly, no issues, just great work."

Small jobs welcome

"Greg has in-depth knowledge of how marble showers need to be waterproofed and the specific materials needed for a perfect job. He is a problem solver who willing went to the extra effort to find the right pipe fittings for my 60 year old shower pipe drains. He paced my shower repair job so that adequate drying between steps took place. He explained in detail each step of the repair process. The price was very reasonable. The completed job looks so good that you would never know a repair had taken place. I am very pleased to have found a reliable craftsman. such as Greg."

"Everything went flawlessly. These gentlemen are craftsmen in every right. Senovio was our contact and he really took the time to make sure things were done to a standard that was unbelievably high. While in the process of setting our floors, Senovio would periodically slide a quarter across the tiles. We were baffled at first. And I personally thought it was weird. But one night while at our neighbors house I demonstrated to my friends how senovio would do this thing with the quarter every morning. In doing so we all understood why he did it. When the quarter was sliding on our floors, it would never bounce. When I sent it sailing down my buddy's hall it bounced as it went over the first grout joint it encountered. The pride that was taken in setting our floors was incredible. Senovio encourages his crew to be the best. They weren't the cheapest bid we got but they were very highly recommended to us. It is refreshing to see that kind of pride in workmanship. Thank you J.M."

"I have not had previous experience with tile and grout issues previously, but the folks from Grout Medic were personable, professional, prompt and presented quality work at a price point I felt was reasonable and justified. I'd use them again and would recommend them to others. Thumbs up to Grout Medic!"

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

You can cut granite countertops after installing them, but you need to consider the mess it will make. Dust will be everywhere, and lots of protective gear will be required. On top of that, you will need to measure meticulously to make sure the cuts you make are perfect; otherwise, you’ll be stuck having to replace the entire slab of granite, which is a much bigger job.

In many cases, it’s worth it to restore stone. Stone restoration generally costs less than replacing the stone entirely, helping to save on the cost of your project while still giving your home’s stone a polished appearance. However, if your stone is very cracked or crumbling to the point of compromising the structural integrity of your home, you may want to consider replacing it. Stone flooring costs range from $6 to $20 per square foot on average.

It’s generally safe to use a Magic Eraser on quartz countertops. Magic Erasers are made from melamine foam, a gentle abrasive that can remove scratches and stains from various surfaces. Although using abrasive cleaners on quartz is not recommended, the melamine foam is gentle enough to remove minor stains and scratches without permanently damaging the quartz countertops.

Engineered stone doesn’t need sealing because it is non-porous. The manufacturing process creates a natural stain resistant to moisture, which also makes it easy to clean.

One of the primary benefits of a soapstone countertop is that the material is heat-resistant. You can put a hot pan on soapstone, and it won’t scorch or crack. Despite being able to handle extreme heat, soapstone is much softer than granite, quartz and similar materials. This means that it scratches easily, so you should not prepare food directly on the surface.
