"Franco, reached out via text shortly following my post for this project. Although it wasn’t an emergency it was urgent for me that the clog in my sink was fixed as soon as possible. It was around 720pm when I asked if he could come on short notice, and he replied that he could drop by shortly. He assessed the clog and attributed the issue to my garbage disposal unit. He had new replacement in his van and provided a reasonable quote. He went straight to work and was mindful to wear shoe covers in the house as well as kept the work area clean. High praises for Franco as he was friendly, professional and efficient. After the job was done payment was very easy with Zelle. He even took a moment to answer some questions I had about replacing my toilets. 100% I’d hire Franco again and refer him business"

"Gomer Basave brought a team of three to four men to construct a 180 foot trench for proper drainage from the landscaped garden to the back of the property. It took six days to build the trench as well as lay the pipes and test the water flow. Throughout the construction, the team worked hard to create the trench and the work was supervised by visits from Basave to the site. Starting with the estimate and proceeding with the work, Gomer Basave was an approachable, responsible and honest contractor who worked with his team to complete the project. The job was not an easy job but Gomer and his crew worked continuously to create a trench that could transport water away from the house. We greatly appreciated working with Gomer and his crew and hope we have the chance to work with them again on other projects."

"My lovely home in Saratoga required a water re-pipe. Upon giving TJ plumbing, a call, a clean, looking young man arrived at my doorstep. He was very friendly and professional. He introduced himself as TJ and proceeded to kindly asked me to give him a brief tour of the house for his assessment. Upon the end of the house tour, he proceeded to ask me about my expectations. I told them that I was just looking to replace my pipes. TJ began to present the several options that were available for my new plumbing pipes. His office included, standard replacement, addition of a softener, a relocation and upgrade of a water heater, and also the different options of materials ranging from PEX, thin-copper, and thicker-copper (apparently there’s a difference in copper, which I never knew) TJ came across very knowledgeable and quite capable of performing the task at hand. I decided to go with him and to commence the work. He was very professional, he took care of my wood floors by creating a walkway with tarps, wrapped plastic around furniture and areas of the living room, bedrooms, and dining rooms, where he intended to work to minimize dust and debris. He consistently kept me updated as to the progress of the work, and gave me a Fair Notice as to when he will be turning off the water. This gave me an ability to use any of my facilities before he disabled them. While working under the crawlspace, he also found an issue with my drain pipe, which was cracked and seeping sewer waste in my crawlspace. For a reasonable price, he took care of the cracked drain pipe on top of all the work he was currently working on. His pricing also included repairing the drywall that had to be cut open. He is not the “I can do everything type of plumber” because for purposes of the drywall, he hired a professional drywaller to repair the walls, which seemed as if they were never opened. I was extremely happy with the end result, and with the quality of work that he provided. I personally decided to include the upgrade and relocation of the water heater to an outdoor tankless. This gave me the ability to reclaim space in my garage, which I can now use to hoard more unnecessary junk. I highly recommend TJ plumbing for any plumbing needs around the home. I would at a minimum give TJ Plumbing a call, to assess the work to be performed. Thank you, TJ plumbing for your professionalism and hard work! -Tony-"

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

You can often unclog a garbage disposal in less than 10 minutes, though sometimes you might need longer if you’re unsure what’s causing the clog. For minor clogs, consider plunging the drain, flushing the drain with baking soda and vinegar, or using an Allen wrench to free the clog. If the clog is more severe, contact a local plumber.

Water leaking through your basement floor is a good sign of a clogged drain, but another sign of a clogged basement floor drain can include unpleasant odors coming from the drain. Also, hearing gurgling noises when water drains from the basement or having other plumbing fixtures (like toilets or other drains) backing up is a good indicator.

Even if the shower drain doesn’t seem clogged or dirty, plan to clean it out about once per month—or more frequently if you or your family shed a lot of hair. It’s a good practice to remove any hair from the drain on a daily basis, as hair can accumulate fast and cause clogs in no time. You may also want to have a plumber thoroughly clean the drains in your home once every six months.

Food grease, soap buildup, paper products, and tree roots often cause serious clogs.

Baking soda and vinegar is a great solution for cleaning your sink drain; in fact, it’s our preferred method. Here’s how to unclog your drain with baking soda and vinegar: Pour in a half cup of baking soda, then 1 cup of white vinegar, and let the two bubble for 15 minutes. Then rinse out with boiling water. This method is much safer than using a chemical drain cleaner gel.
