"Attic Insulation Labs completed a wall insulation drill and fill at my rental property. The work itself can get pretty messy, drilling so many holes in the drywall and blowing in the cellulose insulation releases a lot of construction dust into the air. However, their workers covered everything really well, set up dust barriers, built a containment hallway with painters plastic and reduced the mess to almost none. They also cleaned very well after they were done. I have only good things to say about them and will strongly recommend them to anyone who's moving in to badly insulated old house."

"We are extremely satisfied with their professionalism and quality work. First we hired them to fix our roof. We spoke with Tom Cohen and Tom Aviton, both very professional, respectful, nice, and reasonable. The price was reasonable for a great job they did. They were on time and finished early!!! They were always communicating and were responsive to our questions and needs. We had a month of heavy rain afterwards with no issues with the roof! So we hired them again to replace our windows for a reasonable price! And we were equally satisfied with their professionalism and quality work! Tom Cohen was always accessible and even managed to change the delivery time in the last minute upon my request. The people they sent for both roof and window were very professional, reliable, and nice. We really enjoyed working with CIELO Company and Tom Cohen and Tom Aviton and will definitely hire them again for our future needs! We highly recommend them for anyone looking for a quality work and reasonable price!"

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

A 50-pound mirror can be hung on drywall, but only if it has the support of strong hardware. Ideally, you can find the studs behind the drywall and attach the mirror to them; this will give your mirror better stability. Otherwise, confirm that you are using anchors appropriate to the weight of the mirrors. Another technique is to use French cleats—two pieces of wood that fit together, with one piece attached to the wall and the other to the mirror. This allows the weight to be distributed over a wider area.

A post-drywall inspection could uncover many problems that weren’t present during the pre-drywall inspection, including insufficient insulation, missing weather stripping, improperly installed plumbing and lighting fixtures, flooring damage, drywall damage, plumbing leaks, aesthetic issues, and more. Structural problems, which are often expensive to fix and are common reasons to walk away after a home inspection, are easier to see before the drywall goes up, but a post-drywall inspection may highlight minor issues with house settling and foundation problems.

Which style of corner bead you choose—whether metal or paper-faced—depends on your preference and if you’re comfortable using metal-cutting tools and a hammer. Metal bead offers superior strength and durability but its installation is slightly more involved. We’d say for most cases, it’s better to use metal bead but if you’re not comfortable working with metal, paper-faced bead will work just fine.

While fumigation chemicals cannot pass through solid objects, they will seep into any openings in walls, doors, or other closed spaces. This allows them to get into tight places where pests may be hiding and causing damage, like termites ruining the foundation of your home. It also means that your home needs to ventilate for 48 hours before returning to ensure that no harmful chemicals remain in your space.

There are six levels of drywall finish, from 0 to 5, that refer to the amount of work performed during the finishing process.

Level 0: Drywall is hung with no finishing work.

Level 1: Tape is placed over the seams between drywall sheets.

Level 2: A thin layer of mud is applied over the tape and screw holes. This level is common for utility rooms or walls that will be covered.

Level 3: A full coat of mud covers the screw holes and tape, but the surface is not sanded. This is often used in garages.

Level 4: This is the most common finish for visible interior walls. It involves applying two coats of mud over seams and screw holes, with sanding between each coat, creating a smooth surface ready for flat paint.

Level 5: This is a high-end finish for luxury homes. It includes full taping, mudding, and sanding, plus a final skim coat over the entire surface before painting.
