"The three movers who came to work with us arrived on time and were very nice gentlemen. It took about half an hour to take the piano out of the apartment and load it in the truck.  When they finished moving I checked everything and it was absolutely without any scratches or something. Super nice and reliable service."

"I engaged We Move U for my daughter to make her move easier for her. Dealing with the company to set up the move was great. The person was engaging and helpful. The people who moved her were thoughtful and efficient. Good experience, and I would hire them again."

"This company was recommended to me by our sellers, who used them to move to Monrovia. The house is on a steep hill, so the movers had to use a smaller truck, a little larger than a U-Haul or Ryder truck, but much smaller than a mover's semi. We were quoted $75 per hour for 3 hours minimum, for two guys and the truck. (Sellers were quoted $95 per hour.) The day before the move, TLC called back to ask whether we wanted a third guy for $15 more (so: $95/hr for 3 guys). It seemed they wanted to finish quicker because the weather was *abominably* hot. We knew that the move would take at least three hours with the amount of junk we had, so we figured that the third guy would make things go faster and save us some money. We were glad we approved the third guy. The guys showed up in a plain white truck exactly at 9:00 am as scheduled. They were extremely friendly, professional and cordial, wearing a TLC uniform (t-shirts). They worked well together. Also they provided the use of wardrobe boxes for free for moving clothing on hangers. Our stuff didn't quite fit all in one trip and a second trip was needed. Overall the entire move took 6 hours. The guys were very grateful that we offered them sodas and cold water to drink. (We offered beer, too, but they politely and regretfully declined.) The movers seemed very familiar with our neighborhood and seemed to have moved at least three other houses on the block at one time or another. We also had a falling-apart patio umbrella that they offered to take back to their dumpster to dispose of, free. Overall we had a great experience with TLC and definitely recommend them for local moves."

"I have used CalState moving two times and members of my family have also used them based on my recommendation. They are incredibly professional and efficient. Every time that I have used them, the move has gone quicker than expected and the crew is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. The whole process is so smooth and they always call ahead of time to answer any questions and to confirm. Once again, so happy with their service.!"

"It was a pleasure working with Mike Campos and his crew at Diversified Movers.  Short notice was not a problem and Mike was very responsive.  The crew of three arrived ready to work and I was very impressed with their skills at moving some rather large pieces of furniture.  It was the best $300 I have spent in a long time.  Really saved me a lot of frustration trying to move everything myself.  I would highly recommend this company for anyone looking for assistance of any type of moving project.  If you are not sure if it is within your budget, or even feasible, just give Mike a call and he can help you decided.

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

It’s not required. Some treadmills aren’t designed for dismantling, so you’ll need to move in one piece. Others can be quickly disassembled and reassembled, so taking them apart is a great way to save on space and make the move easier. Consult your treadmill’s user manual for more information and to find the best option.

Yes, tipping each mover separately ensures that everyone on the team gets their fair share.

Most professional movers can provide a wide range of moving-related services, and you’ll need to pick and choose which ones you want to use. Examples of common services offered include the following:

  • Organizing and packing your belongings

  • Protecting delicate items with bubble wrap or other protective equipment

  • Moving your belongings and furniture out of your old home

  • Moving your belongings into your new home within a certain distance

  • Unpacking your belongings in the new location

  • Moving heavy items, like pianos

  • Moving your vehicles

  • Storage if your new home isn’t ready

It can be tempting to want to help your movers as they pack or transport your belongings, but in general, most movers prefer their customers to stay out of the way. Rest assured that your movers are confident in their skills and the process will likely go faster without your help. If you see something concerning, let your movers know right away so they can adjust or remedy the issue.

To prepare for moving a piano, start by documenting its current condition with photos in case of any damage during the move. Secure the piano's lid and wrap the instrument, including its keys and pedals, with bubble wrap and moving blankets for protection. Note that if you have hired professional piano movers, they may handle this step for you.

Next, prepare the space. Measure any tight spaces or doorways to ensure the piano will fit through. Clear a wide path from the piano's location to the exterior door, removing any furniture or obstacles. It is also helpful to prop open doors to make the exit easier.

On moving day, ensure the moving truck can park as close to the exit as possible. For safety, keep children and pets away from the moving area to prevent accidents or distractions.
