"Bryan was recommended by our realtor for our inspection on our new construction home. Even though the home was newly built, it was still important to have an inspection done. It was very worth it too as Bryan pointed out issues we did not catch during our walk through with the builder. Bryan was very responsive to all of the requests the builders were requesting for him to do his work, he arrived on time and was extremely thorough in explaining what he found during his inspection. I highly recommend Figueroa Greens for your inspection needs."

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Golden Scope Inspections and I must say, my experience was outstanding. From the very beginning, they impressed me with their quick response to my inquiry. Despite the short notice, they were able to accommodate my schedule, which was greatly appreciated. The inspector, Marshall, was exceptional. His knowledge about city codes was evident and extremely helpful. Throughout the inspection, Marshall was not only respectful but also very thorough. He took the time to meticulously examine every aspect of my property, ensuring no detail was overlooked. What stood out the most was his willingness to explain his findings. He patiently walked me through each aspect of the report, offering valuable insights and guidance on how to address specific issues. Another highlight of my experience was the pricing. Considering the exceptional service provided, I found the cost to be very reasonable. It's rare to find such a combination of quality service, expertise, and affordability. I would not hesitate to use Golden Scope Inspections again in the future. In fact, I would do so in a heartbeat. Their professionalism, expertise, and customer service are commendable. I highly recommend Golden Scope Inspections to anyone in need of a reliable and thorough inspection service."

Customers say: True professional

"This was an appraisal of a older condominium unit in a gated Southern California beach community for a trust administration. Unusual in that Penny did not have access to interior of the unit she had to appraise. She was very thorough in her research of the complex, and inspected a similar unit that was on the market, in addition to reviewing prior sales records and condition of the unit she appraised. Her comps were very good and it was clear that she'd done her due diligence to discern the appropriate sales, given the three different areas of buildout in the complex. She made a balanced and fair valuation of the property which was important for me to have as the Trustee, and reported on her considerations in good detail."

"Scott from Level Engineering came out to do a inspection on a raised spot on a basement floor in a house I was trying to buy. Thank goodness for Scott because I discovered the house had structural issues and decided to cancel on buying the house. I had a general inspector come out before Scott and he couldn’t find issues with the structure and was there for 3.5 hrs. Scott was there for 10-15 minutes and found a major problem. I would totally 100% recommend Scott and Level Engineering to inspect the house you’re trying to buy!!"

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Beyond having an inspection, it’s important to do chimney maintenance at least annually to be certain the chimney is safe to use. Cleaning the flue of any built-up particles, creosote, and soot reduces the risk of fire. Fortunately, the cost of hiring a pro to do a chimney inspection often includes a chimney cleaning, so you may not have an extra expense for maintenance.

No, homeowners insurance typically does not cover the cost of removing a dead, sick, or rotting tree that is still standing. Insurance is designed to protect against sudden and unexpected accidents, whereas a tree dying or rotting over time is considered a maintenance issue. Coverage usually only applies after a tree has fallen and caused damage to your property.

Yes, mixing siding types will affect your home value, and in most cases, it will improve curb appeal and add to the value of your home. This is especially true if you get the benefit of the high-end appearance of brick or stone siding but save on siding costs by covering most of the exterior with more affordable vinyl or fiber cement.

Yes. Chimneys should be inspected annually to ensure they are in safe working order. Inspectors check the chimney for cracks, leaks, blockages, creosote buildup, and other problems that could result in structural damage to your home, fire hazards, or carbon monoxide poisoning. A yearly inspection is the best way to identify potential issues before they can cause damage to you or your home.

The telltale signs that your home is ready for repointing include visibly damaged bricks, crumbling bricks, flaking bricks, loose mortar, cracked mortar, gaps between brick and mortar, leaking inside your home, and visible water damage. Consider repointing when going over brick house pros and cons if you're buying a new home. Repointing is also a good idea if you plan to paint, acid wash, or stain your brick home, as it will give you a good base for coloration and prevent repairs after the work is done.
