"It was the first time it had been cleaned since we purchased it four years ago. Two cats and a 90 lb lab, later, we were blown away at how gorgeous the couch came out after they cleaned it. We also had an upholstered bench cleaned - and it looks brand new! The couch and bench had many watermarks from our own cleaning and every single one of them came out. The team was supposed to arrive between 10-12 noon with a 30 minute call warning us. They called at 9:30 and were there by 9:50! Luis cleaned and regrouted a marble tiled bathroom floor, restored a marble vanity top that was etched with water marks, and restored a marble dining room table that had a heat-etched ring stain. He also removed the old grout and regrouted the seams between countertops and back splashes and between backsplashes and walls throughout the kitchen. Luis was very professional and friendly and cleaned up the areas where he worked. I was initially a bit reluctant to select this company for marble restoration because of the name but I'm glad I did."

"I needed my house cleaned for a party, and specifically I wanted it cleaned the day before the party.  Elizabeth was able to make that happen for me on about 10 days notice.  She had planned to send 2 ladies for 6 hours, and the standard rate is $30 per labor hour, so $360.  She wound up sending 3 ladies who worked 4 hours.  One of the ladies spoke English well, and was sort of the team leader, the only person able to communicate with everybody.  That actually worked out very well.  The team followed our instructions closely, the bill was exactly as planned and expected, and the house was nicely clean without being brilliantly clean.  We didn't ask them to do any laundry or windows or blinds.
Although I have paid half as much when I hired cleaning ladies directly, even after paying them 50% more than they asked, the price seems fair (not "excellent" but "good"), because Elizabeth is saving her customers the trouble of ensuring reliable service, and I know from the experience of handling it myself that it can be a headache and having someone else do it is worth quite a lot.

1.  Called to make appointment and left voice-mail to call me back to schedule.  Mark Amaya responded to my voice-mail 36 hours later.  Scheduled 9 a.m. appointment and requested Mark let me know asap of any schedule changes.  He agreed.

2.  Day and time of appointment - no show by Starr Detail with no phone call to me either before or after the missed appointment.  Literally, no show and no communication.  Waited 4 days then was forced to call them to reschedule.  The given explanation was that Mark Amaya had brain surgery on day of my appointment and he was the only one with the appointment calendar.  Since it was 4 days after my no-show appointment, I take that story with a large grain of salt as I can't believe that a professional operation wouldn't have immediately been on the phone with customers proactively to explain or reschedule in the event of an emergency.

3.  Rescheduled appointment for 12 noon.  By 1215pm no one has shown up so having prior experience with their no-show, I called them and was told detailers should have called me to advise me of tardiness.  I told him no one had called me and he promised to have them call me immediately and update me on their new arrival time.  Half an hour later, I get a call from the detailers on the road with all sorts of typical L.A. traffic excuses for their tardiness and they finally arrive by 115pm for a noon appointment.

4.  The actual detail work was just ok but was an abbreviated version of a full detail job.  I know because I've had my car fully detailed every quarter since I've owned it.  Upon my review of the work completed, I had to ask them to clean several areas in the leather upholstery and dash that had not been cleaned properly and were still dirty as well as wiping heavy dirt from around the trunk opening that didn't get cleaned during the car wash.  Vastly not impressed and will not use them again.  I definitely don't feel I got my $99's worth.
