"The owner Manny gave me the best value quote of the 5-6 contractors that reached out to me without even knowing what the others bid. In addition, he promised one day service which immediately moved him to the top choice. Given that his quote was lower than others had me concerned he would cheap out on materials and/or the quality would be poor but given his rating I had to give it a shot and I am glad I did because it looks great and was complete in less than a week after signing the estimate. I never thought I would be this excited about concrete. I have been contemplating doing this extension to my driveway/walkway for over a year and wished I had pulled the trigger sooner. My only recommendation when comparing contractors is make sure you are comparing apples-to-apples. Starting in 2022 I believe code asks for 6" thick for a driveway so some contractors will give you quotes for 6" and some for 4". For me 6" seemed like overkill for my use since my current driveway is only 4" and the area I put concrete is mainly for aesthetics and to help make it easier to roll out the garbage bins. It will be used sparingly for a light vehicle. If you plan on maybe putting an RV or something heavy like a F350 then you may want to go 6" but that is why a good contractor will ask you how it will be used and make a recommendation that meets your needs and not just give you the most expensive choice. In addition, the fact he has been in business over 40yrs says something."

"Following first instincts in kitchen remodeling, we went to the Home Depot Design Center….and, although their service was polite and well-organized, we had no idea of what it was we really wanted, and so left with the same lack of inspiration we had going in. Only by serendipity (making a fortunate discovery by accident) did I stop a Remodel Works contractor driving a company vehicle from a job site, and asked for his business card. We then stopped by their show room at 12147 Kirkham Rd in Poway. We found helpful staff there, and examples of everything needed for a remodel - including various displays making it a bit easier to reimagine changes to our kitchen. John De Luca, Kitchenaire Extraordinaire was our Project Manager- friendly, professional, and talented. John came to our house, studied with us what we wanted to keep, and what we wanted to change. He took measurements and photographs that day; then back to his office to apply 3D software. What had been a lack of inspiration on our part, he set to software. He never pushed any product brand or style, he simply explained pros and cons of alternatives. John later portrayed (on 3D software) what products we said we liked, and superimposed (in detail) everything into possible revisions. Once we put everything together we were no longer confused. We knew exactly what we wanted. We could see it. Our onsite Project Manager, Daniel, supervised everything and did an amazing job of coordinating the entire project. From demolition to final touch-ups, Remodel Works’ whole approach was collaborative, and they kept us informed every step of the way. Of course, there were Covid-induced supply chain issues, but Daniel kept our project as close as he was able to expected completion dates. In the end, our kitchen turned out fabulous.
