"Very well, he came out last Friday, they were on time. Armin Rios was very thorough, very confident and very clean and he replaced the pipe. We hadn't asked for him to replace the pipe, but he said this pipe needs to be replaced he was very efficient. He installed a garbage disposal and a faucet."

"Completed on 7/4/2016 but with minor problem. The drinking water faucet is not tight. Contractor said it cannot be tighten. I got the impression that it is just not to rotate it. He put sealer to stop the movement. After about 4 months, the faucet moved and exposed the hole partially. Water can leak through the crack. Requested him to come back to fix it. He said it is not under warranty. It is the faucet problem. My opinion is a good plumber should find way to install properly; if it failed so soon, at least try to come back to put it back right under warranty."

"We hired EDI to renovate our home in Sunnyvale. The project included a complete kitchen remodel, extending it to the other room, removing some walls, a new island and recessed lights and custom cabinets. We also renovated all three bathrooms and all bedrooms in the house, all have been pretty much "gutted-out" and redone. Everything looks amazing, I just can't believe that this is the same old property that we have purchased recently. We found this company after months of research and after almost giving up on finding a contractor that we felt is reliable and professional enough to undertake such a project. We got lucky enough to find EDI and couldn't be happier. Two of our friends are already showing interest in renovating their homes as well with this company, and I think it says it all :)"

"Three men were sent to get everything cleaned up in a day. They also arranged for the plumber to go and make the pipe repair the next morning so that my tenants were not inconvenienced for more than one day. They did a very good job cleaning and sanitizing the area."

"Our first flood flooded due to main pipe blockage and since it was in the middle of the night we went with another company that the plumber had suggested. We quickly felt uncomfortable working with that company as they were very secretive about pricing (saying that their prices differ depending on if the insurance is paying for it or if we're paying for it). We found Water Damage Recovery on Angie's list and it was night and day compared to the other company. They are super responsive and friendly (the Project Manager answers his cell phone and gets back to you right away). They were so transparent and upfront with all the costs. Their estimate was really close to what the true cost came out to be (+/- $100). The guys who came out to the house were extremely cordial and clean. They were able to make suggestions and give me sound advice without making me feel pressured to do anything. I appreciated that they knew I was pretty conservative in terms of what needed to be demo-ed and what we can salvage (without it being a future risk), and they worked around my concerns and gave me alternatives. Their billing department is super friendly as well and was extremely willing to work with me to understand the pricing.

"We had a great experience with LAR construction & remodeling... Before we started the conversion of our 2 car garage, we researched and shopped around for few months until we went ahead with LAR construction & remodeling. Because we are a picky people, we went physically to see several remodeling jobs that they did recently. We were impressed but also worried at the same time. Based on what we saw, we felt that our estimate will not fit our budget and that we will not be able to afford it. The sales rep delivered us the quote and spent 5 hours with us. He didn’t push us to sign the contract and more than that, he didn’t try to persuade us. We took all the information he gave us and few days after, we called him and agreed to talk over the weekend. Shortly after that day, we called him and scheduled the meeting at our house. The price for the work was fair and we felt that we are in good hands. We signed the agreement and a week after, the project started. We converted the garage (about 500 sq/ft) to an amazing single room including a bathroom & steam shower, small laundry area and a kitchen. Everything came out perfect. The additional unit blend well with the rest of the house and all of our friends including our family members that visited us after the work was completed, could not believe how nice the new space… They were able to deal with all the challenges that the project included and how the new hardwood floor installation was blended to the house as a one long hardwood floor Hallway .We are very happy with the results"

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

You’ll only need to replace your sink’s pipes when you start to notice signs of wear like corrosion or leaking. Most pipes last somewhere between 20 and 100 years, depending on the material. Copper and cast iron can last up to 100 years. Galvanized steel and brass generally have a 50-year lifespan. PVC pipes last 25 to 40 years.

Expect your stainless steel sink to last between 20 and 30 years on average. When well cared for, you can use your sink much longer, particularly if you protect it from rust. A new stainless steel sink costs anywhere from $200 to $1,500 including installation, so it's in your best interest to take extra care to ensure its longevity.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

Drop-in sinks, also known as top-mount, are the easiest to install, especially when they fit the existing sinkhole. Drop-in sinks sit on top of the counter and have a raised edge to keep water from splashing onto the floor. They come in different styles to match your kitchen design.

Hairline cracks—tiny cracks in the surface—in porcelain sinks can happen due to age, chemical damage from cleaning products, dropping heavy objects on the sink, thermal shock from drastic temperature changes, stress during repairs, and manufacturing errors. Hairline cracks often start very small and grow longer and wider over time. While they may appear problematic, hairline cracks don’t indicate structural problems and may not impact the performance of sinks. However, they can eventually cause water leaks and mold growth if left to grow.
