"If you ever need a tree crew, call Daniel Hovarter Tree Service. Seriously, I’ve never seen anything like it. My neighbors brought out lawn chairs and watched them the whole morning! It was a Cirque du Soleil performance, but in my pine trees. They took down two 80-foot giants, chipped all the branches, and hauled away the trunks, all in about five hours. It was amazing to watch how expertly and quickly they worked. I’ve hired other companies before (Mountain Enterprises did a good job), but Daniel’s crew is on another level. The way they moved through the trees was pure mastery. When the show wrapped in the afternoon, the area where they were working was spotless. If you want the job done safely, efficiently, and with artistry, these are the folks to call. I’m telling everyone. They have my highest recommendation!"

"Miguel and his team removed three 20 yr+ old trees and trimmed another large tree in one afternoon. The job estimate was very reasonable on Tuesday and the trees were removed on Friday with easy payment online by credit card. I was impressed with the integrity of this company. They were very professional, friendly, worked hard and beyond what I expected. They left my yard clean and orderly. I would hire them again. This was a well-oiled machine in tree service. "Byron is very prompt with returning calls. Prices are reasonable and fair. Arrived on time with a team that was efficient, honest and hard working. We had several trees in desperate need of trimming to be fire compliant. They also dropped several trees for us and cut them into fireplace size. We hired them to come back and remove another dead oak tree in a different area. When it comes to customer service, Byron is your man. We highly recommend Superior Tree Care and will be continuing to utilizing their services in the future."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

If a tree stump is removed properly, the chances of a tree growing back are low. However, if a tree has a robust root system, roots can sometimes sprout and someday grow into a tree. The chance of regrowth will depend on several factors such as the type of tree, soil quality, and strength of the root system. In general, it is not recommended to plant a tree where a stump was removed.

While trees can grow in the curb strip between the sidewalk and the street, this placement often poses the problem of interfering with overhead power lines. It’s best to consult your local utility provider and tree planting service before transplanting a tree that might grow into power lines. Also, you should never work within 20 feet of a live power line to avoid the risk of electric shock. Tree branches should never touch nearby power lines, so it’s essential to ensure your tree isn’t in danger of growing too close to them.

Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. You want to ensure your tree is just creeping out of dormancy and hasn’t started pushing out new growth. If you prune your tree too late into spring, you generally won’t see results until the following year.

That said, there’s no pruning season for unhealthy growth. Remove dead, dying, or diseased branches as soon as you notice them, regardless of the time of year.

Opt for a barefoot tree. Pros harvest barefoot trees when they’re dormant (leafless). They shake the dirt from the root ball and pack it in moist material.

These trees can cost half as much as the trees at your local nursery, and you can buy them online—so there’s a much wider selection. Just make sure you keep your barefoot tree cool until you’re ready to plant it.

Yes, it’s possible to overwater a newly-planted tree. Daily watering is great for the first few weeks, but it’s important not to go overboard. Excessive watering can lead to various problems, including root rot, fungal diseases, and a lack of root development.
