"If you ever need a tree crew, call Daniel Hovarter Tree Service. Seriously, I’ve never seen anything like it. My neighbors brought out lawn chairs and watched them the whole morning! It was a Cirque du Soleil performance, but in my pine trees. They took down two 80-foot giants, chipped all the branches, and hauled away the trunks, all in about five hours. It was amazing to watch how expertly and quickly they worked. I’ve hired other companies before (Mountain Enterprises did a good job), but Daniel’s crew is on another level. The way they moved through the trees was pure mastery. When the show wrapped in the afternoon, the area where they were working was spotless. If you want the job done safely, efficiently, and with artistry, these are the folks to call. I’m telling everyone. They have my highest recommendation!"

"Miguel and his team removed three 20 yr+ old trees and trimmed another large tree in one afternoon. The job estimate was very reasonable on Tuesday and the trees were removed on Friday with easy payment online by credit card. I was impressed with the integrity of this company. They were very professional, friendly, worked hard and beyond what I expected. They left my yard clean and orderly. I would hire them again. This was a well-oiled machine in tree service. "They showed up early, after calling to see if was OK. Very professional, great value for the price. Their chipper truck broke down earlier in the morning and still came and did a great job. Would recommend them to anyone who needs tree work."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Trees should be pruned every two to five years, depending on its age and type. Young trees should be inspected and pruned every two to three years. Mature trees should be inspected and trimmed every three to five years, and fruit trees should be pruned annually with a careful eye on seasonal growth. Evergreens typically don’t need pruning, unless branches or limbs are damaged, diseased, or harboring pests.

The typical lifespan of a Bradford pear is relatively short, only 15 to 25 years. However, these trees have issues long before their life is over. Due to their soft wood and fast-growing branches, Bradford pear trees often split around 15 years, making them a risk for falling branches and more prone to disease.

Unfortunately, most of the time you’re out of luck if a neighbor’s tree blocks your view. You don’t have a right to a view, so if you have a tree that’s near the property line but on your neighbor’s property, you can’t cut it to be able to take in a majestic mountain or a beautiful sunrise. In some communities, however, there are ordinances protecting scenic views. Checking into your local laws can help you determine your rights in this situation.

The best time to trim trees is in late fall through winter when the tree has slowed its growing for the year. Cold weather stops insects and fungal growth from attacking a new tree wound. Summer and fall are considered the worst times to trim trees, but it’s permissible in certain scenarios, such as tree disease, damaged branches, or small, aesthetic cuts.

Yes, you can prune a palm tree with a chainsaw, but a chainsaw is overkill for a job like this. You risk damaging the tree if you make a bad cut. More commonly, you’ll need pruning shears or a serrated knife to trim a palm tree, or you can use a specialized pruning saw instead of a chainsaw.
