"Currently getting some artificial turf installed in backyard. Tired of maintaining real grass and encore builders recommended turf since I have dogs. We picked out pet friendly turf and everything looks good! Awesome and timely customer service"

"They helped us redo our front yard and backyard, which turned out better than we had hoped. The old driveway had cracks, so we replaced it with smooth concrete. On both sides, they added turf to keep it clean without all the upkeep. They also helped plan the space, so it flows better with the rest of the property. The whole project looks sharp and feels easy to manage. The team worked quickly and kept us updated the entire time. It's worth it."

"Wonderful work, we've been thrilled with the results over the last year. Tom was fantastic to work with. We wanted to gut our bushes and dead grass in the front yard, and a very overgrown garden in the back yard, and replace and expand our grass and add all new plants. We also needed some eroded sandstone removed as well as putting in new concrete where an old in-ground spa used to be, and remove an old patio cover. Tom made our vision even better and provided wonderful advice and recommendations. He and his crew worked fast - there was a lot of demo! They added new lawn irrigation lines where we expanded our grass, and converted the perimeter sprinklers to drip irrigation for the new plants. We absolutely love our new outdoor spaces and have received a lot of compliments. Thank you, Tom!"

Customers say: True professional
"The first thing that convinced us that Cristian was the man for the job was his honest, kind, and helpful demeanor. We weren’t entirely sure what we wanted to do in our outdoor space and he came back on several occasions to discuss plans with us, walking through our yard and helping us visualize the possibilities. We never felt rushed and Cristian genuinely wanted us to end up with a space that we really enjoyed, which in the end, we did. He also offered information from his years of experience in both landscaping and other construction work. He really knows his stuff! He was also very responsive whenever we needed to discuss something. When the work began, he arrived on time with a good crew and they worked efficiently to get each stage of the project done ahead of the estimated timeframe. Our happiness was in the little details too. When asked to be careful of newly planted plants in our garden when putting in the sprinkler system, Cristian’s crew were careful. In the end we opted for natural grass with a full sprinkler system. We were very happy with the end result. The grass looked great and the sprinklers were placed well so that all parts of the grass are getting water. In a time when materials and labor are very expensive, Cristian’s pricing seemed reasonable and fair. Overall, we were very happy with the work Cristian and his crew did. He has since been in contact with us several times, stopping by to check on the grass and adjust the watering as needed. We would definitely hire Cristian again. He provided a very professional and skilled service, and is a kind and friendly man."

The cost to reseed or overseed a lawn is about $1,050 on average, ranging from $450 to $1,700, depending on lawn size, seed type, and location. Popular seed types for residential lawns include bahia, fescue, and Bermuda. Keep in mind that it costs $0.10 to $0.20 per square foot to seed or overseed a lawn. Additional cost factors may include:
Fertilization: $80–$400
Soil testing: $700–$2,100
Yard cleanup and leaf removal: $200–$560
Treating weeds: $110–$325
Mowing: $50–$210
On average, the cost of lawn fertilization is $250, ranging from $80 to $400, depending on the size of the lawn, its current condition, additional treatments, number of applications, fertilizer type, and location. Keep in mind that labor, tools, and equipment make up 80% to 90% of the total cost of lawn fertilization. Additional lawn treatment options include:
Lime treatment: $100–$150 per 1,000 square feet
Crabgrass treatment: $30–$80
Grub treatment: $30–$80
Mulching: $150–$400
Dethatching: $265–$295
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
