"We recently had a significant amount of work done by Clear All Rooter Plumbing, and we couldn’t be more impressed! The scope of work included: New Drains Under the Home: They hand-dug to remove the old cast iron main sewer pipe and drains for two bathrooms, the kitchen, and laundry. They replaced everything with new ABS piping, ensuring proper slope and sizing, and pressure-tested the entire system. New Angle Stop and Supply Line: They installed a new quarter-turn angle stop and 20” supply line for the toilet, replacing the old system. New Water Lines and Pressure Regulator: They removed the existing horizontal water lines and installed new PEX water lines under the house, along with a shut-off ball valve, pressure regulator, pressure relief valve, and hose bib. They even opened drywall to inspect a leak and added an access panel, securing everything with pipe clamps and offering a 30-year warranty. Install ABS Clean-Out: They hand-dug and removed the old cast iron pipe, replacing it with a new 3” ABS pipe and a two-way ground-level clean-out, ensuring everything was pressure-tested and the hole was neatly backfilled with native soil. Throughout the entire process, their professionalism was outstanding. We loved that they kept us in the loop at all times, letting us know when the technician was en route and sending us texts with photos of who would be arriving. They even took photos and videos of the work to explain everything in detail, helping us understand what was being done and why. The quality of their work was impeccable. As you can see in the attached photo, you can't even tell they dug into our front yard! They even went above and beyond by returning to check our gas pipes under the house, concerned there might be a leak. Their expertise is abundant, but when something was outside of their scope, they made knowledgeable and trustworthy referrals. It’s clear they care deeply about their customers, treating our home as if it were their own. Plus, the fact that they’re a family-run business really shines through in the care they put into every job. On top of all this, they offer financing options, which made the entire process even easier. If you’re looking for a plumbing company that is professional, knowledgeable, and truly goes above and beyond, I highly recommend Clear All Rooter Plumbing!"

Sewer cleaning services FAQs

In most states, companies that perform sewer cleaning services don’t need specific licensing, but you should always ensure you hire a licensed and certified plumber to get the work done. You can use our state licensing tool to check whether the potential sewer cleaning company holds a plumber’s certification and license. Hiring a certified sewer cleaning services guarantees that the work will be done safely, there won’t be additional damage done to your home, and the problem will be fixed.

The average cost to snake your main sewer line is around $250 for a simple snake. Most sewer line specialists charge between $45 and $200 per hour for main sewer line snaking, so the time involved plays a major role. The price you’ll pay will depend on the severity of the clog, the item causing the backup, how long it takes to remove the item, and more. A more severe issue that requires unclogging a main sewer line will cost $3,100 on average.

There are a few signs of a clog in your main sewer line that you should keep in mind.

Common signs of a sewer line clog:

  • Multiple fixtures in your home drain slowly

  • Drains in your home gurgle during or after draining

  • Water backs up into your sewer line cleanout

  • You notice foul odors in your home

The best way to confirm that your main sewer line is clogged is to hire a professional plumber to assess the situation and use a camera to inspect the inside.

In most cases, drain cleaners will not clear a clogged sewer line, and they’re likely to damage your plumbing. Sewer lines are several inches wide, meaning any material that clogs it will need to be large. Drain cleaner can work on small clogs, but it usually won’t clear a larger one in a sewer main. Drain cleaners can also easily damage and corrode your plumbing with prolonged contact, and a clog will keep the cleaner in contact with the pipes for an extended period. Hire a professional sewer cleaner instead for a safe fix.

You should not attempt to snake your sewer yourself. Accessing and snaking your sewer requires heavy-duty equipment, and while renting is possible, misusing it can damage your sewer main and leave you with very expensive repair costs, not to mention potential environmental issues and severe water damage. Accessing your sewer also exposes you to hazardous sewer gasses, and failing to seal the sewer properly after work can be very dangerous. It’s always best to hire a professional sewer cleaner near you to handle this type of work.
