"I was skeptical of remodeling our kitchen because you hear so many horror stories about contractors taking too long, charging more than they say, flaking out, etc. My husband and I were in disbelief at how OPPOSITE Pristine is from that. Pristine Construction is exceptional. I don't think I have ever encountered a better company.... and I have very high standards! Nathan and Mike are not only true to their word, totally professional, and incredibly knowledgable, but they are 2 great guys who are fun to hang out with! They make you feel like you are their only client. Pristine Construction really does care about you as a person and they take a great deal of pride in providing the best service and best quality work. Also, the designer they had design our new kitchen was incredible. The layout of our finished kitchen is gorgeous. We are extremely happy with everything Pristine and their sub-contractors did. Our kitchen remodel was worth every penny. Their price was reasonable and similar to other construction companies around. Nathan and Mike and their crew helped us better our lives and we are eternally grateful. You will not find anyone better in Los Angeles!"

"We interviewed many contractors for this job. In the end, it boiled down to the good rapport with Nathan. On the plus side, his work is beautiful and his workers always showed up as promised. He never quibbled about some concerns we had throughout. But, we were up sold some work, (which we likely needed anyway) but were under the gun to make a decision and had to haggle under those conditions. Also, he sometimes requires multiple messages to get a response. Overall, very, very pleased with results and recommend to anyone."

"I give this company 5 out of 5 Stars on my recent Kitchen Reconstruction Project. I had significant water damage in my kitchen from a burst pipe under my sink and needed to renovate my entire kitchen because of it. I got several bids to do the work and many of the contractor were all over the map with respect to their pricing nor did they provide detailed estimates for me to really examine the costs. When Universal Home Design came to do their bid, they were upfront on what needed to be done and provided a detailed bid along with samples and an estimate as to how long the work would take. Ouriel Lousky was very easy to work with and was very thorough in answering all our questions. Even questions sent via email/text were answered promptly. He provided a lot of pictures as well of projects he was either working on or had finished. The quality of the work through those pictures in addition to his upfront attitude sold us and we hired them to do the work. It took under 2-weeks to complete out kitchen from beginning to end. The crew always arrived between 8-9 am and were very courteous. I’ll also mentioned that they were also very quiet while doing their work which allowed me to work upstairs and my kids to attended class from home (due to COVID-19) without any significant interruptions from noise. In addition, each day the crew would announce when they were leaving for the day. We were extremely happy with the quality of the work that was done upon completion. I can’t recommend this company enough! I should mention that there were no change orders required as part of my project and if Ouriel was able to get me a better deal on an item (cabinet knobs for example) he would offer it. If you are thinking of having some work done to your house, give these guys a chance. Let them do a bid for you and look through the examples of the work that they have done. You can’t go wrong!! "I used Jeremiah and his crew for a new bedroom, bathroom, and mudroom addition to the back of our house. Our project had a unique challenge that arose once we learned that our house was deemed a historical property by the city. He was flexible in scheduling as we waited on the city to approve our plans. Everything moved very quickly as his team built the addition. The entire building crew and subcontractors Jeremiah used were professional and polite and worked with us. Overall, I would use Bridgestone Construction again and recommend them to anyone looking for a general contractor."

"Golan, the I.N.G. crew, and all the specialists with whom we worked were great. Ours wasn't a huge job, and it took us a while (just before the holidays!) to figure out how much we wanted to tackle, but Golan was the perfect balance of attentive and patient. The initial estimates we received were logical and fair, and the only changes to the costs of the project came after clear and careful communication and agreement. Probably the most impressive moment of our experience came when we were out to dinner late on a Monday night, miles away from home, unaware of the rain that had started falling near our house. Golan was all over it, though: he called me on my cell until I answered (noisy restaurant), then personally hurried over to our house to make sure the exposed construction in progress was properly covered and protected. Ours wasn't a huge job, so (understandably) we weren't a high priority for some of the subcontractors, but Golan got them all coming and going in sequence, dodging the unpredictable LA winter rains, with almost no hiccups. The work they did looks great -- including sections where you can't tell any work was done, at all -- and as a cherry on top of the completed job, they even managed to find stone tiles that matched those from years ago that had fallen off a column out front. I would definitely reach out to Golan and ING again for future projects."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

The costs depend on the type of wood, labor, roofing material, permits, and whether additional storage or enclosed walls are included.

Check reviews, compare quotes, and verify licensing. Ensure the builder has experience with modular construction.

Costs depend on project complexity, software requirements, and the draftsperson’s experience.

Mediterranean architecture comes from traditional building styles of countries on the Mediterranean Sea mixed with French, Greek, and Moroccan influences. There are three main types of Mediterranean architecture: Italian Renaissance, Spanish Revival, and modern.

Some signature components of Mediterranean architecture include red terra cotta roofs, archways, stucco siding, and metal detailing on windows. These homes often have balconies and outdoor living areas.

It is technically possible to draw your own blueprints, but the process is extremely involved and really demands help from an expert. A professional architect has an understanding of design elements, interior design, the functionality of different rooms in a home, and how everything from furniture, outlets, and light switches should be laid out to serve you and your family best. Hiring an architect for blueprints can get expensive, but it’s the most responsible way to begin a new construction project. If you’re keen on DIYing, you could consider starting the process and then having a professional take over.
