"Jose was prompt, courteous and professional. His knowledge of prefab fireplaces is extensive and he even found a flaw in the original installation and repaired it. I would recommend him to anyone needing repairs. I would also rate his work with 5 stars, which this review wouldn’t let me do."

"The first guy came over and took pictures on an ipad and gave an estimate. I have tile on the first portion of the roof and then the rest is a graded flat roof. He entered the roof from the front meaning he walked on the tiles. After the repairs we completed, we had another big storm and the roof leaked where the tiles were. I later learned you are not supposed to walk on tile. I think he may have disturbed something causing the new leak. He was professional and explained all of the costs, showed me photos. The actual repair person came while I was at work and did the repairs. He sent pictures of all of the completed work. The leak that I called for repair was repaired and never leaked again. He cleaned up the roof as well. I was happy with this. I tried contacting them again but never received a reply. Overall, they got the job done but I believe more care should be taken on a tile roof. I think they should be more responsive to emails because I would have used them again. They were responsive to the initial scheduling and consultation but after that, I could not get a reply."

"We hired Fireplace Freddie to inspect and fix our 100-year-old fireplace & chimney, making it safe to burn real wood again. Nick and Scott came out quickly, and used cameras to inspect. During the inspection Nick visually showed me what the issues were. He also verbally suggested the fix. After the inspection, we received pics and a price quote to fix the issues by installing a stainless steel sleeve in the chimney. We sent the pics and info to 3 other businesses to compare prices. After speaking with Nick numerous times, including 2 conversations with my old school contractor buddy who asked Nick just about every ridiculous question he could possibly think of, Nick remained cool and answered all of his questions. Nick also agreed to do the job with a permit from LADBS which they included in the price, so we decided Fireplace Freddie was the right company to do the job. Patrick was our installer. He had a co-worker, but I didn't catch his name. They showed up on time, covered the floor and furniture and did their job. It took a few days as they said it would, but they were on time, clean and friendly. Each day they came, they covered everything. Each night, they cleaned up and uncovered everything before they left. Patrick also dealt with our LADBS inspector who admittedly was not well versed in chimney repair. Patrick was very friendly, gave the inspector the information he needed including printed specs from the manufacturer, and we passed inspection w/o issue. Scott came back 1 week later to test the fireplace. He lit a fire to make sure it was all good, and it is. To sum it all up, everyone was friendly and professional. The job went super smooth, and we are able to use our wood burning fireplace again, safely.  I would highly recommend Fireplace Freddie. A+"

"Mark meticulously went through every inch of this antique from top to bottom and repaired all structural damage incurred over the last 260 years to include everything from small worm holes, to cracks on the table top and drop leaves, warps, loose joints, pegs and butterfly joints. He made it structurally sound to last another 260 years without changing any of the rich 260 year old character and charm. This is truly an amazing museum piece and family heirloom to last another lifetime."

"It took over 2 weeks to get the job finished. They had only 1 person each day except for 1 when the man who sprayed the stucco worked. He did not finish and did not return, so the trim painter had to finish his work. There was a lot of overspray which the trim painter had to repair. the trim painter would leave each day without telling us he was leaving, so we did not know when or if he would be back. He left on the day he said he would be done, but did not say he was leaving and did not ask us to look over the work that had been done. It was necessary to call the company and they had to send out 2 painters who spent an entire day touching up the missed places, including entire pieces of trim that had not been painted. It was hard to contact the company. Most times we called we were sent to voice mail and sometimes the voice mail was full. They did return calls fairly responsively. After all the time and fretting, we are satisfied with the job at the price we paid. We had 1 quote of $2000 just to paint the trim, so the price was great. We have had to do some small touchups but overall the job is very nice. I have seen some cracking in the stucco paint I think because it was applied very heavily, but we will have to see how it holds up.

"He did the inspection and said he would be able to repair it. We agreed and hired him to do the work. The next time it rained after the service was performed we had a leak. I contacted them to inform of the leak, they replied and said they would come back and look at the roof. Since this initial conversation in December I have not heard back from them. I have tried to reach out via email multiple times."

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, vinegar can break down the adhesive bond, effectively dissolving the glue from wood. It will be much easier to wipe away. Vinegar’s acidity, which helps to make it an effective all-purpose cleaner, can also aid in removing adhesive with less chance of damaging the wood and finish than more aggressive solvents.

If your couch is damaged, you are not out of options. You might try fixing it on your own, bring in a furniture repair specialist, or opt to get rid of it responsibly. Depending on its condition, you could donate, sell, recycle, or drop it off at a local scrap facility.

Pros cover many fixes, from upholstery renewals to joint reinforcement.

You should consider the time needed to clean and prepare your bedroom set for transit. A few days before moving, vacuum, dust, and clean your furniture with a mild cleaning solution. Depending on the movers and the services you pick, you might need to pre-pack the mattress and box spring in boxes designed for beds and disassemble some furniture by removing doors and hardware. Finally, don’t forget to take plenty of pictures documenting the pre-move condition in case you need to file a claim.
