"He installed a new toilet for us. I have health issues that require a taller bowl, 19 inches. Or more. He knew that we were senior citizens, so he found an economical yet classy toilet that met the requirements I asked for. He was quick with the installation and left the area cleaner than he found it. He was very friendly and courteous. I enjoyed talking with him, as I had worked for a plumber in my younger days and had done all the bathroom needs up until 5 years ago. A M Plumbing will be my go-to service from now on."

"I was able to contact Matt, the owner, at 8 p.m. and found him very helpful and informative.  I called back at 7 a.m. the next morning and was able to schedule the job for later the same day.
Technician Mike arrived early and thoroughly reviewed the scope of the work.  He went about replacing the water heater in an efficient manner.  He also installed a new metal stand for the water heater, all new supply lines, and installed a new supply line for the gas dryer hookup.  He took time to add necessary spacers to the rear of the water heater so that he could properly strap it.  The job took just under 2 hours.
The cost of this job was half the price quoted by two other full-service plumbing businesses for the same brand water heater. We feel confident with the quality of all the material and workmanship and feel that we definitely got our money's worth.  Overall we were very pleased and would highly recommend them.

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

If there's no water coming out of the spigot, or barely any water, you might have a clogged water line. Areas with hard water are prone to this problem because the high mineral content in hard water causes build-up in pipes and water lines. This constricts the water flow and causes water to slowly trickle out, if at all.

Switching to city water from well water requires running a private main service line from the closest main city line to your home. When comparing well water versus city water, city water is routinely tested and readily available but can be more expensive than well water.

How much it will cost to install an earthquake shut-off valve depends on who’s doing the installation. The price of the earthquake shut-off valve itself can cost between $250 and $750, and you’ll pay between $150 and $200 for labor if you hire a licensed plumbing contractor. If you install the valve yourself, you’ll save on labor, but you might need to spend $50 to $300 on the right tools for the job (and it’s a complex job that we don’t recommend DIYing).

Left unattended, a leaking toilet will eventually cause water damage or mold growth. If you’re a homeowner, you can file an insurance claim for water damage. However, that can be a long and tedious process; sometimes, your insurance company may not cover the damage. Therefore, it’s always best to fix any leak you notice right away if you can.

The lifespan of insulation depends on the material type. Fiberglass can last between 80 and 100 years, but it is important to start checking it around the 15-year mark. Spray foam has a lifespan of up to 100 years, and mineral wool can last up to 100 years. Cellulose, an eco-friendly option, has a lifespan of 20 to 30 years.
