Clyde's Next Generation is a family owned and operated consumer electronics retailer and service provider. The owners have been serving the Redding community and surrounding area for nearly 30 years. These folks grew up working in the business along side their parents for more than 20 years, and are now grooming their own children to one day take on the business for themselves. Next Generation offers only quality consumer electronics at box store prices backed by hometown service. They are active members of the community in which they live and provide sponsorships to various non-profit organizations such as military veteran's groups, senior citizen programs, and public and private school fundraisers, along with many, many others. Furniture Refinishing questions, answered by experts

You can make your dining room look more expensive using one or more of several methods. If you're remodeling, you can consider raising the ceiling height, installing an elegant chandelier, or redoing the floor. For smaller renovations, consider changing the paint color to a deep and rich tone, such as burgundy or emerald. You can also swap out the table and chairs to achieve a richer appearance.

Black stains appear on wood furniture when the surface comes in contact with water and metal for an extended time. It creates a chemical reaction that stains your wood black. Products that contain oxalic acid can remove these stains. Its bleach-like qualities can reverse the stains after a few rounds of application.

No, you don't have to apply polyurethane to butcher block countertops. Polyurethane sealant is a long-lasting finish for a butcher block counter, but its application also requires thoroughly sanding the surface multiple times. Other materials, such as mineral oil, require less work but must be applied more frequently.

When browsing the hardware store, you may wonder about wood putty versus wood filler. Wood putty is made with plastic adhesive, whereas wood filler is made from sawdust or wood products.

The main difference is that people use wood filler to fix the interior portions of wood. Wood putty contains chemicals that could damage the inside of wood, so it's best for exterior sections. If the crack or hole goes into the middle of the lumber, it's the right product for the job.

Yes, there are several wood filler products on the market that look like wood. Your best bet is to take a cabinet door to your local hardware store to match the appropriate wood filler to your door. Some brands make filler that is masked to look like wood and can also be sanded, cut, stained, and painted.
