"I am very satisfied with NOVA for the stucco work on my garage addition. It was easy working with Miguel and the crew. The city inspector said they did an excellent job and passed the lath inspection. I recommend NOVA Plastering LLC for stucco work."

"Because of water damage we had to replace a french door. Due to underlying damage the wall had to be repaired up to the second story. Phil coordinated with the window people, showed up on time, did a great job with lath and stucco, painted the wall and cleaned up. The work was priced reasonably and I would hire him again."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

To maintain stucco, inspect it annually for cracks and clean the surface with a mild detergent. Seal any cracks promptly to prevent water infiltration, and reseal or repaint as needed to preserve its appearance.

Neutral colors like white, tan, beige, and light brown are the most popular stucco colors. Natural stucco has a grayish color due to the high concentration of Portland cement in the material, but most homeowners have their contractors add pigments to create a more inviting appearance. Stucco is most popular in hotter climates, where it provides ample insulation to regulate interior temperatures and keep the solar heat out. Since lighter colors reflect more sunlight, lighter stucco is more prevalent.

Depending on the amount of damage, a stucco repair professional can repair your stucco siding in four to 12 hours. If you only have a few small cracks, that repair could take as little as one to two hours to repair. In contrast, if you have an extensive fix, like foundation or chimney repair, you can expect the process to take a bit longer. Always discuss your project expectations with your stucco repair expert.

You can use small bits that are up to 3/8 inch in diameter, or larger bits that are 1/2 inch or more in diameter. Make sure the bits you use are coated with carbide or diamond; this information is usually visible on the package. You can also use hole saw bits to drill into stucco.

Quikrete will set without mixing. The process of pouring dry concrete into your concrete form and then adding water is called dry pouring. While this method makes pouring concrete simpler and easier, it reduces its strength and durability. It can be a viable option for small, decorative concrete pavers for walkways or for setting fence posts, but it’s not ideal for pouring slabs that will bear any significant amount of weight.
