"We needed to have a new roof installed on our home. An excellent crew of highly skilled professional installers arrived on time and did an excellent job. The roof now looks beautiful. We highly recommend Verde Home Design and will be contacting them for other home projects that need to be done. Company owner, Manny, is a very pleasant and honest person to deal with. There was no sale pressure and he provided us with all the details with the knowledge that we needed. Manny would arrive at the work site and inspect all the work that was being done to our satisfaction. Overall, we are very pleased with the results of our new roof."

"Very, very smoothly! Hugo and Hector were the best team to work on our house that we have ever had and the contractor German was the easiest to get along with. The two painters were so particular that they fixed areas we thought might need to be fixed before we even asked! And when they came across an area that wasn’t up to their standard they decided to go ahead and redo a whole section to make sure it came at the quality they expected. We would hire them in a second, with absolutely no complaints but compliments on not only the workmanship, but also the professionalism and the kindness they showed us while working. Never made you feel bad about asking them a question and we’re always willing to tell you they were going to be at your home at a certain time and every day they were here exactly at that time. All I could say is if you need a painter that you can trust that does excellent work without any complaints higher these men!"

"We recently had Mega Power Electric Inc install a solar system and panels. The President and provided excellent communication all the way through the process. He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. We are very satisfied with our solar system and I highly recommended Mega Power Electric Inc."

"I only use James when I need some work done to my house. He responds fast, gets the work done quicker than just about anyone else I've ever used and seems very concerned with leaving his customers happy."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Several clues suggest that your stucco is damaged or has underlying issues. Visual clues include discoloration, cracks, indentations, broken caulking, or visible mold. If you touch your stucco and feel any soft spots, that could also indicate a problem. If you notice any of these concerns, call in an inspector who can confirm your suspicions and help provide solutions.

You should aim to let stucco dry for at least 48 hours before it rains. While misting new stucco and keeping it moderately moist is important for strength and longevity, uncontrolled exposure to rain can lead to weak stucco that doesn’t bond properly. Rain can also affect the stucco finish and the color unevenly, leaving you with less appealing siding.

Cracks in the chimney can be very serious, depending on their location and size. Even small cracks can become serious over time if left unrepaired. Cracks allow heat and moisture to deteriorate your chimney and harmful carbon monoxide gas to seep into your home. Small cracks can often be caulked, while large cracked sections may require full replacement.

You can use small bits that are up to 3/8 inch in diameter, or larger bits that are 1/2 inch or more in diameter. Make sure the bits you use are coated with carbide or diamond; this information is usually visible on the package. You can also use hole saw bits to drill into stucco.

It typically takes around 30 to 60 minutes for a window pro to replace one window in standard siding types, but a window in stucco will likely take a bit longer because of the density of materials. Custom architectural windows usually require a longer replacement process because of the additional fitting and securing required.
