"The crew did an outstanding job installing the fence around our one acre lot during bad weather. Not only does it look great but it looks better than we thought it would and our neighbors agree too. The young crew was always on time, very professional, and always plesant and courteous. I was almost sorry to see them go."

"James Eyler is very kind, helpful and efficient. He knows how to solve any elec. problem. He put new face plates on 3 outlets in my living room. One was to replace a two outlet plate on a 4-way outlet. Another, I thought was burned out, and he tested it, and it worked. I thought it was burned out since it had blown a lamp and extension cord out. The 3rd outlet was wired for 3-prong, but had only a 2-prong plate installed. James put on a 3-prong plate. He fixed my front porch light, which hadn't worked in 3 years. He re-silvered the faceplate, and put in a new socket. The light works beautifully. He also knows about sinks, locks, etc."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Making a homemade pallet fence involves marking out the fence line and leveling the ground along it. Then, install metal or wooden fence posts that you slide the pallets on top of (two posts per pallet). Fasten them together with 2x4 wood boards that act as an extra layer, keeping the pallet fence secure.

Painting or staining protects fences from environmental damage, enhances durability, and improves curb appeal with a fresh, customized look.

The bottom strand should sit between 12 to 15 inches from the ground. If you have a problem with small critters, you can aim for 8 inches. Three-strand fences should be 16 to 19 inches apart, four-strand fences should be 10 to 12 inches apart, and five-strand fences should be 8 and 10 inches apart.

A fence gate can sag for several reasons. The issue often stems from the hardware, such as damaged or bent hinges, or loose screws that can no longer support the gate's weight. The gate frame itself might also have come out of square due to failing supports. Alternatively, the problem may not be the gate but the supporting fence post, which could be leaning or out of place. In many cases, fixing a sagging gate is as simple as tightening the hinge screws or upgrading to more robust hinges.

Do you need a permit to build a fence if you are simply replacing an existing fence? Whether you need a permit in this case depends on your local laws and regulations. Most municipalities consider a fence replacement project as being equal to building a new fence, so you likely will need a permit. Check with your local building inspection department or zoning department to see if you need a permit. If you hire a local fence contractor, this pro can take care of obtaining all permits for you.
