"Thanks to the information provided on Angi’s, we hired Beach Construction to remodel a Guest Bathroom. From day one, they were very upfront on timeframe, prices and what to expect. Casey kept in touch with us all through the completion of the project. The Sub-contractors were very efficient and on time! We highly recommend Beach Construction ….5 Stars!!"

"We recently had Mega Power Electric Inc install a solar system and panels. The President and provided excellent communication all the way through the process. He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. We are very satisfied with our solar system and I highly recommended Mega Power Electric Inc."

"Painters were on time and worked hard every day. Complaints: Both guys smoked and because my windows were open, I could smell it inside. They brought their own "Boom Box" and played heavy metal type music loudly. It made me dizzy and I'm sure the neighbors didn't appreciate it either. It has been two weeks now and I am beginning to see some flaws especially on the doors. Other than that, my house looks amazing!"

"Ryans responsiveness and willingness to come to my home within hours of a call was great!   I needed his service as quickly as possilbe so that my remodel would not be delayed longer than necessary.  He also gave me a discount when I explained that his effort would be easier due to the emptiness of my master bath, closets, and vanity area.  (My condominium was practically empty and any work that he would have to perform would be easier due to the ease of access to the inside of closets, wall space, etc."

"Really impressed with my new back yard. I was very hesitant as I got so many bids at first, but really what got me is the way they approached that. From A to Z everything done professionally, with a 3D design, demo, and building the new concrete and pool. I love how everything came out and will be happy to use their service in the future."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Yes, professional installations include reinforced corner posts to ensure durability.

Framing is the shell of the house. It includes several steps, including studs, plumbing, and electricity. A professional will ensure the wall frame is secured for the house’s structural integrity.

Framing prices change depending on the material and whether the wall is load-bearing. Most contractors use wood to frame a home, but metal is another popular choice.

Most of the time, you’ll want to use screws on your subfloor rather than nails. Nails can actually weaken plywood, whereas screws can easily penetrate without damage. They also form a more secure connection because of their shape, preventing squeaky floors and tightly holding the subfloor in place. That said, some contractors do prefer nails depending on the type of floor covering because they allow for more flexibility.

You can choose 5/8-inch plywood or 3/4-inch plywood—anything thinner than these sizes may not withstand the impact of debris propelled by strong winds or can be easily torn off by intruders. Remember that the durability of the wood board is crucial, particularly for safeguarding your windows during severe storms. The effectiveness of using wood boards for protecting the investment you made in your home relies on using the appropriate material and ensuring proper installation.

Not all porch columns are load-bearing, though they can be. Some porch columns are simply decorative. There are ways to identify a load-bearing column, like looking for visible seams and a foundation. Also, check to see if the column directly enters the ground. In some porch installations, a contractor will excavate a hole to install a column into the earth along with a buried cement base for stability.
