"I want everyone to know that Whitestone Painters stand out for their customer satisfaction policy. We first had our interior painting done in Nov 2015 and I noticed that there was a problem with the paint, so I called and Ernie came right out. He agreed there was indeed a problem and said no problem, they would come back and repaint the rooms at my convenience, which they did this week. I never had a complaint with their quality of work, because they did an amazing job. It ended up that the paint was not washable as requested. They truly do stand by their customer satisfaction 100% and I will use them again the next time I need a job done. The painters were polite and treated my home as if it was theirs which really impressed me. I highly recommend Whitestone & you will not be disappointed !!"

"This was a huge job for Bryson and his team. The painting is flawless. Really quite amazing. I'm still stunned. His painters were all very professional. They left the house clean every night and returned on time every day. I have used other painters before some good and some not so good, but this time with such a large job I never thought it could look so perfect. But I was wrong. I am very happy. Highly recommend."

"The job was said to be 2 to 3 days. Due to painters personal problems, it ran 8 days. The work was good, but thorough clean up was lacking. I was left with minimal paint spatter and material cleanup."

Painting questions, answered by experts

You can only change your neighbor's fence with their permission. A neighbor's fence is their property, and altering it without their consent could constitute trespassing or property damage, which may have legal consequences. If you have concerns or disagreements about your neighbor's fence, communicate with them openly and try to reach a mutually agreeable solution. If you believe the fence violates local zoning laws or property regulations, consult with local authorities or seek legal advice to address the issue through proper channels.

The number of coats you need to apply when whitewashing a surface depends on how opaque you want the final product to be. If you're going for a transparent, barely there look, a single coat or two may suffice. For fuller coverage, you'll want to use multiple coats. Another option is to use a less diluted paint to get a thicker coverage.

Staining a wood fence isn’t guaranteed to prevent warping, but it can help. Plus, it’s a beginner-friendly DIY project that you can finish in a few days. If you want to try it, you’ll start by stripping it of any old stain or paint, then sanding it. After that, you’ll clean it and spot-treat any mold or mildew. When it’s dry, you can apply the stain.

If you paint a vinyl fence, it will likely stick to it for only a brief amount of time. This is because vinyl is not a porous material, so it's not an ideal surface for holding paint. Initially, paint will stick to your fence, but it will eventually peel off. Applying primer before painting your vinyl fence will help paint last longer. Certain primers are well-suited to vinyl, which means you can paint vinyl siding with the proper preparation.

Generally, these steps are included in exterior house painting:

  • Prepping and protecting the areas not being painted

  • Scraping away loose paint

  • Cleaning off dirt, grease, and debris

  • Caulking gaps and openings

  • Priming with a quality paint primer

  • Painting the prepared areas, including trim and accents with chosen paint finish

  • Adding a second coat

  • Cleaning up the site and disposing of tape, plastic, and drop cloths
