Small jobs welcome

"I have been working with Paul and I would highly recommend him to anyone! I have had him done a lot of other projects for me besides painting. I have had bad luck with handymen before so I was hesitant to hire him but he has proven to be a great handyman and always provided great quality work. Even now he is working on something for me."

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

"Ph always busy, could not call back for further est. on putting in more down drains. Should have replaced screws on patio roof. But, Workers were pleasant, polite. Donâ t know when the gutters were ever cleaned. It was hard work. Odd that they did not have any p apers for the job, no invoice."

"It went great. We were really on a tight spot, we were going to buy our house and we're planning to put a roof on the house. He gave a great quote. He had it done in 3 days which was great. He lost a little bit of money on us but he still did a great job. The staff was great, any issues we had, they took care of it right away. They cleaned up well after themselves. He was in constant contact with me if we had any issues, when the guys are going to be there or leaving. He came over and checked the site several times and they had great customer service."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

The installation may have been done correctly. However, improperly installed gutter guards can easily damage your shingles. Also, cheap gutter guards rarely come with installation fixtures. In the worst cases, they simply ask you to nail the guards in, which would sabotage your roof’s water resistance and thus void the warranty. To be sure, always check with your home warranty provider before making any modifications.

The most important thing to remember when laying shingles is to work from the bottom of the slope to the top. This leaves you with a top overlap that directs runoff from one row to the next until it reaches the eave for disposal. You should also make sure you follow the manufacturer's instructions and the local building code for nailing patterns and frequency so all of your hard work stays put through varying weather conditions.

Roofing material costs vary depending on the type of material you choose and whether you install it yourself or hire a roofer. Shingles are the most affordable option and cost between $70 and $400 per square, metal roofing is between $100 and $1,500 per square, and concrete tile is between $300 and $1,000 per square.

Clay tile roofing is more susceptible to damage from impact than something like a metal roof or even asphalt shingles, so they aren’t ideal in areas that see frequent windblown debris or hail. Clay tile roofs are also an average of $8,000 more expensive than asphalt shingle roofs, so up-front cost is an important consideration to make before committing.

No, there’s no specific building code that requires a roof overhang. However, installing your roof with the standard 2-inch overhang is good practice, as it helps direct runoff away from your fascia boards and roof decking and into your gutters. Some overhang is especially important in areas that see heavy rainfall and snowfall, as the risk of water getting under the roofing material and causing water damage is much higher.
