"Andrew responded to my request from help within minutes of me entering it. I needed a same-day service and he was at my home to provide it within 1.5 hours. He had every needed supply on hand and brought it with him. He was professional, polite, and extremely easy to work with. My issue was completely resolved, and I am really grateful for his work. I will definitely call him back whenever I have locksmith needs in the future."

"Awesome Service! Got locked out of my house and called [Arizona Precision Locksmith and they showed up super fast and got me back in without any hassle. Super friendly and easy to talk to, and he clearly knew what he was doing. No surprise charges or anything shady—just quick, honest work. "If there was a rating above five stars they would have gotten it! Bob is so great!!! He’s fast, clean, respectful, and just awesome! He educate the client without making them feel as if they should have known in advance. He made everything so easy for me where to previous locksmiths failed to do that. When you called to make an appointment you speak to his lovely wife, Anne. She makes everything amazingly simple on her side and is a pleasure to speak with on top of it! They are an amazing duo and there is no way they could be better. Just call them now!"

"Job was done professionally, though locksmith complained that the house was too far away and would not have taken the job if he had known how far it was. He did not come the day scheduled. We had to re-schedule and we had to call him."

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

While lock crunching as a whole is not terribly common, it is one of the most frequently used means of forced entry into a home. Recent data suggests that forced entry through lock crunching or snapping occurs in more than 25% of burglaries.

It is best to use a dry lubricant, such as a Teflon-based option, for door locks. Unlike popular oil-based lubricants, dry lubricants leave a non-stick, water-repellent coating that does not attract dust, dirt, and other debris. Using an oil-based lubricant can cause these particles to build up inside the lock, making it difficult to operate or even damaging the internal mechanism. You can find dry lubricants, some of which are made specifically for locks, at most hardware stores.

Newer, electric-powered door locks generally have a life span of five years or less. That’s thanks, in large part, to a phenomenon called planned obsolescence, in which products are programmed to need replacing after a certain amount of time. That’s also why older, manual, push-key locksets can last up to 30 years with regular cleanings and maintenance. When it does come time for a new set-up, know that the cost to change locks ranges from $130 to $500 on average.

Regrettably, entirely pick-proof locks don't exist unless you opt for keyless varieties. Locks advertised as "pick-proof" are, in reality, more resilient against lock-picking and bumping attempts because of complex mechanisms consisting of pins and sidebars. These locks work like this—they assign two tasks to the key, enhancing security by making unauthorized entry more challenging.

Security systems are one of the measures that deter burglars the most. Research suggests most burglars look for signs of a security system before going in, although the presence of a security system doesn’t automatically mean they won’t enter the home. However, a security system with cameras can decrease the chance of a burglary overall.
