"Koala replied to me quickly. I had 3 quotes, Koala provided the insulation I needed at a good price, but beyond that, the customer service from the quote to the work was great. It was seemless and all done with kindness, willing to take time to explain and answer questions. Prompt, in fact I made my decision on a Friday with a Monday completion. THANK YOU"

"The owner, Joe called me and gave me a quote over the phone. YES! The quote was based on my square footage and my desire to stick with the least expensive solution. The new blown-in product won't need more added as it did with the original product blown-in by a different company 10 years ago. That inferior product had a settling rate of over half! The workers were on time, made short work of the installation, let me climb the ladder to see the before, sent me photos of the after, and stuck with the original quote. Lastly, they were here within a week of my initial call and were on time. Great company and saved me more than $800 on the next lowest estimate. Highly recommend."

Kasi is a local, family-owned and operated spray foam insulation contractor. We service Phoenix, Tucson, Prescott, and northern Arizona. Two brothers, Patrick and Paul Kariniemi, founded Kasi in 2010. Prior to starting Kasi, Patrick spent ten years with a spray foam roofing company in Phoenix and Paul was an industrial construction contractor in Minnesota. Although we’ve tested nearly every foam insulation product available in Arizona, we’ve only purchased foam from a few suppliers. We have an 11-year long relationship with our injected foam manufacturer and a five year long relationship with our spray foam supplier. Since each foam insulation product has its own application characteristics, we’ve found that you have a lot fewer problems by sticking with reputable manufacturers who stand behind their products. As a result, our technicians are experts in the products they install.\n\n

Insulation questions, answered by experts

In Surprise, a frequent mistake is neglecting to seal attic penetrations before adding insulation, which allows hot air to infiltrate living spaces. Homeowners sometimes use insulation with an R-value too low for AZ’s intense heat or forget to install radiant barriers, crucial for reducing solar gain. Improperly installed vapor barriers and overlooking attic ventilation can also undermine energy efficiency and indoor comfort.

Helpful?

Homes in Surprise built before 2006, or those with uneven temperatures and high cooling bills, often benefit from insulation upgrades. Signs like exposed attic joists, rooms that overheat in summer, or inconsistent comfort levels indicate poor insulation. If your attic lacks radiant barriers or you notice excessive dust indoors, your home is likely ready for improved insulation service.

Helpful?

In Surprise, closed-cell spray foam and blown-in cellulose are top choices for insulation service, offering strong thermal resistance and effective air sealing. Radiant barriers are essential to reflect intense solar heat, while high-density fiberglass batts work well in properly ventilated attics. Opt for materials that handle dust, UV exposure, and humidity, and check for options that may qualify for local energy efficiency rebates.

Helpful?

In Surprise, be wary if a contractor doesn’t inspect your attic or skips discussing air sealing as part of their insulation service. Watch for vague explanations about recommended R-values or insulation types, and avoid those who push quick decisions or large deposits. Reliable professionals will explain material choices, address local climate needs, and provide clear warranty information for their insulation work.

Helpful?

Surprise’s scorching summers and monsoon humidity require insulation materials that resist both heat and moisture. Scheduling attic insulation during cooler months helps ensure safer installation and better results. The area’s frequent dust storms and strong sunlight make radiant barriers and durable air sealing especially important, so choosing materials designed for AZ’s climate is key to long-term energy efficiency.
