Small jobs welcome

I began a career in automotive repair and refinishing in the late 1970's and after thirty plus years retired from the valley and automotive refinishing. For the last fifteen years my focus had been on custom hotrods and motorcycles, as demanding as enjoyable. Color matching and custom paint appeals to my creative side and customer interaction proved pivotal for a successful project, these are values I still hold today. Customers vision of a project combined with an understanding of personal creative taste make an inspired and fun experience. Creativity, improvisation and experience with color, texture and visual interest were the mainstay of the last fifteen years of custom work and are now the mainstay of this new endeavor. I hope we can work together on any project you are contemplating, large or small\n

You can revamp your laminate countertops effortlessly with the magic of paint, the DIYer's ally. Many tutorials and DIY kits are available to help you achieve the look of natural stone, including marble. So why not unleash your creativity and transform your countertops into stunning pieces that will leave everyone in awe of your artistic prowess?

The lifespan of painted countertops depends on the products used and how well they are maintained. Generally, they can last for a couple of years before needing a fresh coat. To maximize their longevity, it is vital to apply a durable sealer, such as a resin or water-based acrylic topcoat, over the paint. After applying the sealer, allow it to cure for the full recommended time, which can range from seven to ten days, to ensure a fully protected surface.

Yes, you can generally put hot pans directly on a granite countertop without worrying about cracking, as it is a durable, heat-resistant stone that can withstand high temperatures. However, it is still highly recommended to use a trivet or hot pad as a precaution. Prolonged or repeated exposure to high heat can potentially cause discoloration or damage the countertop's sealant, making it more susceptible to staining. Additionally, the heat from a pan can transfer to the granite, creating a burn hazard for anyone who touches the surface shortly after.

The best type of wood for countertops is hardwood. Hardwood is much more durable and resilient than softwood, so it won’t scratch or dent as easily. Oak, cherry, maple, walnut, and teak are all popular options that are relatively common in North America. Some homeowners prefer to use pine or cedar, but make sure to seal your countertop to help prevent damage. Yellow pine fares better than white pine.

You can cut food on tough, scratch-resistant granite countertops. However, these hard surfaces can quickly dull your knife blades, and continual cutting in the same spot can eventually lead to marks forming and compromising the protective sealant. As with any countertop material, it’s always best to use a chopping board.
