"We moved into a new home build which is very close to a mountain. We saw 5 live scorpions inside out new home on the day we closed! We called on Friday evening and we were able to make an appointment and have someone there the next day in the afternoon. We were impressed with the gentleman that came to service our home. He not only sprayed the house inside and outside, but gave us lots of information about scorpions that I was not aware of. I feel more prepared to deal with the scorpions as we are really in their territory. The week after the spraying we found 7 more scorpions inside the house and garage, but they were all dead."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Most spiders are harmless and are more interested in finding and eating insects than trying to bite you or your family members. Certain spiders in your home may be advantageous if you have an issue with insects. Most spiders are non-venomous and have small mouths, so even if they did bite you, it wouldn’t be enough to cause any harm.

However, some species of spiders can cause harm if you are a victim of their spider bite, including the black widow and brown recluse varieties. Both species’ venom is poisonous, and you should seek medical help if bitten.

Mud tubes, wood damage, and swarming are typical indicators.

One scorpion sighting doesn’t necessarily mean there’s an infestation, but finding a scorpion in your home should always be taken seriously. Don’t panic, though, as that will only make the situation more stressful, and you may act irrationally out of fear. Most scorpions have extremely painful stings that cause swelling and redness, but they’re not life-threatening.

However, while not all species are dangerous, the Arizona bark scorpion, which is common in the southwest U.S., is highly venomous and potentially deadly to humans. Never attempt DIY removal if you suspect it may be the Arizona bark scorpion—instead, contact a pest control professional immediately for safe, effective scorpion removal

While some pets, especially dogs, may chase rabbits away due to their natural hunting instincts, relying solely on pets to deter rabbits is not foolproof. Some rabbits can become accustomed to the presence of pets over time, and not all pets possess the same level of hunting inclination. What’s more, rabbits can potentially carry serious diseases like Tularemia and E. cuniculi, which they could pass to your pets.

Typically, fleas won’t take up residence in human hair. Their natural preference is to live on the fur of animals, but they can bite and infest humans on a temporary basis. If there is a significant flea infestation in the surrounding environment, humans may inadvertently become a host. Again, though, this is a rare occurrence.
