"This was a multi-faceted job. Two large trees in front yard, a mesquite and a palo verde, needed trimming beyond a ladder's reach. The crew leader Diaz climbed the trees with safety ropes and harness to reach and thin the two trees. He also lightened at least one third of the weight of a tree in the rear yard, leaving the portions needed to maintain privacy. Arborist Jack then visited my property in order to design a support for that tree to preclude the likelihood of it falling and damaging pool equipment and the house, which was subsequently installed by a specialist technician. Good job in all respects."

"Called Tree Logic, who I have used before, and Craig showed next day to provide estimate. I needed to remove tree as roots were raising a "common" cinder block wall. Craig provided estimate and assurance that the stump grinding and "treatment" will stop the roots from anymore damage. Team showed up on schedule, professionally removed the "4 trunk" tree without any additional damage, as it was very close to wall and house."

"The owner, Luis worked directly with me, not a salesman. He was involved with every step of the install. I found him to be honest and followed through with everything he said he would do. He also called if he was delayed or had a change of plans. He did all the leg work for all the hardscape purchases and offered to also do the plant material, that part I wanted to do. Basically there was no need for me to do any rock and brick hunting. Luis kindly brought samples to the house or spent time discussing different options with me. I got only one other price quote for my yard and Luis was able to do the same work I wanted, for the money I had, while the other company could not. Also, four or five other people were contacted to give a bid on my yard, only two gave me a bid, Luis was the one who listened and returned my phone calls. As for the yard, my yard design is different, I asked that areas of the yard be left for me to do. Luis was very respectful of this and asked me all along the way where to stop his work and where to continue, he communicate with me! My yard is not done yet, but Luis & his crew's work is. Their work is absolutely beautiful, pristine, and creative: I had antique pavers added from the driveway to the back gate; they installed decorative rock with drainage; installed a dry river bed from the fountain, then put a concrete border around it; they laid flagstone stepping stones; framed and poured concrete for concrete paver along the side of the house. There was much work and it was done in about a week. My thanks to your hard-working crew."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Tree roots can take weeks to years to die, depending on the method you use. Chemical herbicides take the least amount of time—typically between three and four weeks—while homemade methods, like covering an old stump with leaves, could take between seven and eight years. If you’re unsure which method to use or how quickly you need to act, consulting with a pro is always a good idea.

Firewood tends to be cheaper during the spring and summer. When the demand for firewood is lower during these seasons, many firewood companies offer lower prices and added discounts. In addition, the supply of firewood is typically higher in these months, meaning the quality is typically higher as well.

State and local laws vary, but in most cases, you are allowed to trim any branches from your neighbor's tree that cross your property line. However, it's important to ensure you do not damage the overall health of the tree in the process. Removing branches incorrectly can jeopardize the health of the tree and could lead to you being on the hook to replace it.

Unless there’s some sort of rule in your community’s homeowners’ association that requires you to remove a stump, there’s no law that says you have to take it out. If you’re not wedded to the idea of removing it, there are plenty of ways to get creative with this tree remnant. Using the stump as the medium for a wood carving or turning it into a planter are just two examples of ways to repurpose a tree stump.

Trees should be pruned every two to five years, depending on its age and type. Young trees should be inspected and pruned every two to three years. Mature trees should be inspected and trimmed every three to five years, and fruit trees should be pruned annually with a careful eye on seasonal growth. Evergreens typically don’t need pruning, unless branches or limbs are damaged, diseased, or harboring pests.
