"This was a multi-faceted job. Two large trees in front yard, a mesquite and a palo verde, needed trimming beyond a ladder's reach. The crew leader Diaz climbed the trees with safety ropes and harness to reach and thin the two trees. He also lightened at least one third of the weight of a tree in the rear yard, leaving the portions needed to maintain privacy. Arborist Jack then visited my property in order to design a support for that tree to preclude the likelihood of it falling and damaging pool equipment and the house, which was subsequently installed by a specialist technician. Good job in all respects."

"We hired Ever Green Tree Landscape to trim our very large ash tree in our front yard. After receiving quotes from various vendors, Ever Green's was the best price. They showed up on time, did an excellent job trimming our tree, and cleaned up everything They also made sure to protect our artificial turn under the tree. We liked their work so much that we have now hired them as our bi-weekly landscape maintenance company."

"Called Tree Logic, who I have used before, and Craig showed next day to provide estimate. I needed to remove tree as roots were raising a "common" cinder block wall. Craig provided estimate and assurance that the stump grinding and "treatment" will stop the roots from anymore damage. Team showed up on schedule, professionally removed the "4 trunk" tree without any additional damage, as it was very close to wall and house."

"UPDATE: After reviewing Green and Trim on Angie's List I was contacted by the company and they came out at no charge to replace the dead shrubs with new ones, remove the plastic, move the drip lines so the tree would get the water it needed, and plant a new tree as well. With the recent heavy rains it appears that the Sumac just might make it after all. I appreciate Daryl's willingness to correct the problems I encountered. Original Post: At the time Daryl did my landscaping I was pleased because he was easy and pleasant to work with and it was so ridiculously cheap compared to some of the other bids I had received. I did have to go with him to the nursery to pick out healthy plants because most of the ones he initially brought to my house were in horrible shape, but that was really my only gripe. The price included a certain number of trees/plants depending on the gallon size. Now, over a year later, it is clear that I got what I paid for. To kill the grass in the front he covered the entire yard with heavy plastic, and now I'm desperately trying to save a giant Sumac tree that has been slowly dying from lack of water. The drip system for the tree was placed right at the base of the trunk, so none of the roots have been receiving water, and the arborist that I had trim the rest of my property explained to me that the entire root system needs access to air and water. The plastic also nearly killed the jacaranda tree I had them plant, but I so far have managed to save it by moving the gravel he installed and ripping up as much plastic as I could. When I pulled up the plastic I found random gargbage and cardboard that had been used to pin down some volunteers sprouting up from the Sumac. His crew also installed drip lines at the root of some existing pyrocantha on the south side of the house which have all since died. The sprinkler system has worked fine so far except that I recently noticed a leak in one of the heads, and my neighbor's sprinkler guy happened to be next door and came to take a look. He told me that my system was basically the cheapest stuff from Home Depot and that it would all need to be replaced within a year or two. I tried calling and texting Daryl a few months after the fact when I began to notice some problems, but never heard back. My angieslist membership expired so I never wrote a report, but now that I need to find someone to fix these problems my boyfriend and I have rejoined and thought we should share."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

If you ever want to see the literal fruits of your labor, you’ll need to prune your peach trees. Without pruning, the trees may not grow or bear fruit since the nutrients will be divided among too many offshoots to provide any with enough energy to produce the peaches. Plus, if parts of the peach tree become diseased or pest-ridden, pruning can nip those problems in the bud.

Hiring an arborist or tree surgeon is usually more expensive than a standard tree company, but it is often worth the investment. Arborists have education and certifications that standard companies typically lack, leading to a more professional, expert-level service. Their expertise is particularly valuable for diseased or infested trees, as they can ensure safer removal and help prevent the issue from spreading. Additionally, arborists may be necessary for work near power lines, as uncertified companies are often not permitted to service these trees. If your goal is to preserve the health of your trees, an arborist is the best choice. Their services, such as stump grinding, are also performed with greater expertise to ensure a safe depth that won't cause your lawn to collapse over time.

In most ways, palm trees are incredibly low-maintenance. They don’t need a ton of water—which is why they’re so beloved in desert regions—and they basically prune themselves. But they do need an ample supply of sunlight and to be in soil that will allow for proper drainage so that their roots don’t become waterlogged and at risk of developing illnesses.

If the plant begins to wilt, develop spots, or change color, these could all be signs that your palm tree has a disease. But a few basic treatments, like pruning and applying fungicide, will usually be more than enough to return it to perfect health.

Peach trees grow to be about 25 feet, so keep this in mind for pruning as well. If you plan to DIY, you’ll need to be comfortable working on a ladder. Without pruning, peach tree branches can sprawl nearly as wide as the tree grows tall, so make sure to plan pruning sessions at least once per year in the spring for controlled growth. And if you’re working on a ladder, be sure to follow all safety precautions, especially if you’ll be dealing with falling branches.

Though summer is not ideal, you can do some light pruning during this time of year. Just make sure it’s not excessive. Vigorous pruning will stress the tree and impact next year’s growth. Generally, August to September are the best summer-pruning months, particularly for fruit trees.
