Small jobs welcome

"Wonderful experience with Promise Glass! They came right out, got a very reasonable quote, and ordered the glass we needed for a broken window. Once the glass came in, they let me know and installed the same day! Would 100% use them again and recommend for any glass needs. Thank you for a great experience!"

"I purchased a voucher from C2 Moving for $250 for 3 hours, 2 men and a 26-foot truck. We stayed in touch through email to establish a time, 8:30 a.m. and they arrived promptly. C2 Moving stayed in contact with me via phone the day prior to the move and the morning of the move to confirm arrival time. Javier and his assistant were very professional, courteous and respectful of my mother and her things. It was a small move, only one bedroom. They disassembled the hospital bed, bagged the bed in plastic and provided a wardrobe for her clothes. They took apart the lamp and carefully wrapped the glass globes and boxed in a wardrobe. C2 Moving followed us the short distance to the home and quickly brought in and assembled the bed, unwrapped the mattress and put the lamp together. It was a seamless, easy move and my mother and I were happy.
I will use C2 Moving for all my future local moves.

"Just had a window replaced in our home in Sun City West. Hector and Gilbert were the technicians. They showed up early, were very efficient and did an excellent job! Cleaned up the area after they were done, so you wouldn't even know they were there! I highly recommend American Vision Windows for all your window replacement needs!!"

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is possible to repair a damaged or cracked mirror, but whether you should do it yourself depends on the extent of the damage. For minor issues like small chips, cracks, and scratches, you can use a DIY approach. Resin-based repair kits can fix minor cracks, while scratches can often be removed with metal polish, nail polish, baking soda, or a glass polisher. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the best results.

However, for more significant damage, DIY repair is not recommended. Repairing and resilvering mirrors is a delicate process that can involve caustic chemicals and requires a high level of precision. The materials for a DIY attempt can cost over $100, which may not be a significant saving compared to hiring a professional. Since a failed attempt could result in more damage and higher repair costs, it is often better to hire a mirror repair expert from the start, especially for large, valuable, or extensively damaged mirrors.

Their thickness depends on application, but most glass walls are typically 3/8 to 3/4 of an inch thick. Although it’s not as common, single panes of glass can also be 1 inch thick.

New glass costs anywhere from $3 to $100 per square foot. More specifically, tempered and insulated glass—a common option for sliding glass doors—costs between $10 and $14 per square foot.

Black spots on the bottom or along the edge of your bathroom mirror are caused by oxidation behind the mirror glass. When moisture and air are trapped between the glass and the backing, they react and cause discoloration. This is sometimes referred to as “mirror rot.” You’ll need to separate the glass and the backing to fully remove it.

The average mirror has a lifespan of 10 to 15 years. After that, the coating begins to deteriorate, losing its reflective properties. Acrylic mirrors have a slightly shorter lifespan of seven to 10 years. Higher-quality acrylic sheets with UV-resistant properties have lifespans similar to those of your average mirror. By maintaining your mirrors and keeping them out of direct sunlight when not in use, you can extend their lifespan. Some mirrors can last for decades.
