"Gauge is a Representative who puts his Clients first. He reminds me, of a younger me. (This says a lot, because I was always a top notch Sales Rep and I retired early, as a result of my personal efforts and how I always did, as I said, and placed my Clients as top priority). I have yet to begin my project, but he won over my business and I?m excited to see the results. I?m confident they will exceed my expectations."

"Advanced Glass was punctual, professional and their work was top quality! They clean up after they are finished and they are conscientious, taking care while they work. Mike and Mike put three 'banks' of windows as well as a single window - replacing the builder's (2001) windows. The other day, during the 100 degree weather, it was amazing how much difference it made. Our house no longer has 'hot spots' where those old windows were. The view is beautiful and we don't have to close the shutters from the heat or glare. The windows are magic! They form an invisible shield against the outside temperatures and sun glare. I had done some price comparisons before having them come out and they were very reasonable with the highest quality products. I would recommend them unconditionally."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

For small cracks, glass-bonding glue that can be pressed into cracks may be able to save a broken mirror. If a corner of a mirror has been chipped, you may be able to conceal the fact by adding a border or frame to the mirror. Deeper cracks and chips should be addressed by a glass-restoration professional if you're trying to preserve an antique or heirloom mirror.

To tell if a window is single or double-pane, focus on the edge. Double-pane windows have two glass layers separated by a spacer, which you can usually see around the edges. For single-pane windows, it’s just one sheet of glass. Another easy trick: shine a light at the window—single-pane glass reflects once, while double-pane glass reflects twice. Lastly, if you feel both sides of the glass on a cold day, double-paned windows will feel warmer because of the insulating gap between the panes.

Generally, large bathroom mirrors that have been secured to the wall with glue require a multistep removal process. By taping the mirror with masking tape or duct tape, you can potentially prevent dangerous shards from falling as you loosen the mirror. A heat gun or other heat source may be needed to loosen up the glue before it can be freed using a wire saw. With glued-down mirrors being the most dangerous to remove, it's wise to hire a professional instead of handling glass on your own.

The size of your mirror depends on the size of your vanity and personal preference. Most people prefer a mirror that is 1 to 2 inches narrower than the width of their vanity, while others like a mirror that’s the same width as their vanity. Remember that the mirror should sit 5 to 10 inches above your faucet when choosing dimensions.

Just how long it takes to install a wall mirror depends on the size of your wall, the type of mirror, the installation method, whether you decide to hire a professional, and the number of installers. For smaller walls with multiple trained professionals and acrylic mirror sheets, you can anticipate having your wall finished within an hour. Larger walls comprised of several custom mirrors can take upward of four hours to complete.
