"We needed to have some holes in our walls patched that were left over from some plumbing issues that were fixed in the walls. Chris was very responsive, came out to give us an estimate, and followed up on the estimate. All estimates were about the same price, but we chose Match All Drywall because we felt they would do the best job. We scheduled the job a week out. The night before the work was scheduled to be done, Chris called and confirmed the time of the scheduled appointment. His crew arrived at the scheduled time. The crew said it would take about 4 hours to complete the job.4 hours later, they were done. The quality of work seems very good, Carlos explained to us what he was going to do. The texturizing of the walls is very similar to the rest of the wall. It is very hard t tell the difference especially if you do not look for a difference. We thought Carlos and his partner (sorry, forgot his name) did a great job. After I painted the walls, all looked almost as good as new. I would highly recommend Match All Drywall if anyone has any drywall repair needs."

"German was awesome to work with from start to finish. He called two days before he was scheduled to do the job to confirm, arrived on time, and cleaned up before he departed. We had ripped out a shelving unit that traversed two walls. The drywall needed to be repaired and we have an odd pattern on the walls. On a previous job, the drywaller had difficulty matching the pattern, so we were a little nervous. German managed to match it perfectly! We will be in touch with him again in the near future for another project."

Customers say: True professional

"Joaquin and his wife came and corrected a multitude of small drywall issues in our home and at a reasonable price. We had accumulated a ceiling crack, small holes in ceiling from a lighting change, cracks in drywall from house settling, damaged drywall from water heater leak, someone may have hit the drywall fitting a truck into a place it barely fit in the garage... 😁 Joaquin corrected everything and did an absolutely amazing job matching the drywall texture. I'm a picky (pain in the butt) and was worried patching would look like patching. Nope. As a bonus, there was zero mess to cleanup when they left. Highly recommend."

"Fast, easy and at a great price. I had several quotes to have the tile backsplash removed from my kitchen and the drywall behind it to be repaired and retextured. FHD Drywall Finishers LLC gave me a great price, and did great work. They were straight forward about the job and when the time came did a great job fast! Only took them a few hours and then I had my kitchen back. Workers were polite and professional. Would hire again and would recommend!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Most drywall used for interior walls of homes is 1/2-inch thick. This size strikes a balance of being easy to handle and hang while being thick enough for the durability needed on interior wall applications.

In some minor cases, you can DIY drywall repair with minimal time and money spent. This method is best when you have a hole made by a singular problem, such as accidental furniture moving, and not a continuous problem, like a rodent infestation.

Knowing what product to use is crucial. For example, small holes only need spackle, whereas large holes might need a new piece of drywall. You can flex your DIY abilities on this project, but if you’d like a second opinion or have a more significant problem, it’s best to call in a drywall repair pro.

Whether you can reuse a drywall anchor depends on its type, material, and how it is removed. Plastic anchors, such as expansion or self-drilling types, are generally considered single-use because they are designed to expand and are likely to break or become deformed upon removal. Metal anchors, like toggle bolts, are more durable and can often be reused if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle mechanism can fall inside the wall when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged or must be cut for removal, it cannot be reused regardless of its material.

You should start looking for a drywall installer by choosing a local company with positive online reviews and ratings with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Next, confirm that the professional is properly licensed using Angi’s contractor licensing tool, and ask the installer if they are fully insured. It’s a good idea to ask for recent customer references and call them to get their honest opinion about the contractor and their work. You can also ask the installer if they guarantee their work or provide a workmanship warranty.

Plaster walls typically last between 30 and 70 years, but depending on the quality of the materials and the moisture levels in the building, they can last for over 100 years. With expert application and consistent maintenance, plaster can even last for centuries. To extend its lifespan, it is important to have the plaster professionally installed, address any water damage promptly, and repair small cracks as they appear. Regular inspections by a professional can help identify and address concerning cracks before they become significant issues.
