"While I really appreciate your feedback, I was surprised to read how unhappy you are with all the work that was completed. I would first like to address your move-in deadline. We worked furiously for the first 2 weeks prior to move-in to complete the interior painting (all trim, doors, ceilings, and walls throughout the interior of the home). We removed all carpet and padding in all bedrooms including the master and installed a new 6"x24" plank flooring in all rooms. It was decided by you that you wanted a partial wall removed, a 12'x12' 2x6 partition wall built between the living room and Great room, the existing kitchen tile removed, and approximately 400 sq. ft of plank flooring installed. These additions made it very difficult to meet your timeline of 2 weeks. Nothing was ever mentioned to me up to this point about the extended lease on your previous home or the additional bills you incurred. I recall that you moved into the new home 3 weeks after the work began while we were still working on finishing the flooring and partition wall in the kitchen. A house under construction can be dusty although we tried to keep it as clean as we could. As you indicated, the A/C filters were changed as soon as you mentioned your son had an asthma attack. It is my recollection that you were very happy weeks into the job (not 2 or 3 days) and I did my best to accommodate your additional work requests such as the barn doors and partition wall in the living room. The majority of exterior doors swing inward but because of your kitchen table placement, you requested they swing outward which is more of a custom setup and is usually a bit more expensive. I did explain this to you. It was decided by you that I just purchase the in-stock French doors at Home Depot and install them backwards so the doors swing out. Minor things can get missed with a job this size but we've come out a few times to try to make it right. The pictures you attached were cosmetic issues that have all been taken care of some time ago. We did a complete walk-through of the home with your father and asked several times if he was happy with everything. We indicated that he (or you and your husband) could contact us at any time if additional issues were noticed. I have always been willing to address your concerns. While I do admit there are some uneven tiles in the kitchen that need to be pulled out and re-laid, I do not agree that the entire floor needs to be redone and that it will prevent the resale of your home. In my professional opinion the flooring looks good other than the few uneven tiles. I e-mailed you on July 12th stating that I would be willing to mark those tiles and have Rob replace them. Your review is the first time I've heard from you since that e-mail. I cannot confirm or deny what was said between you and Rob as I was not a part of that conversation. Rob's son has worked directly for him for the past 3 years and it is not uncommon for his son to do the big bulk work. As a business owner I usually have several jobs going on at once. Sometimes it becomes necessary to reschedule and juggle things around but I do try my best to minimize the times that has to happen. Since I started your job a year ago I really feel I have done my best to address your issues and concerns. I sincerely apologize that you see it differently and that the job did not go as expected for you. As previously indicated, I am willing to replace the problematic tiles if you are open to that. If so, please contact me via phone or e-mail so we may schedule a time."
"Thank you for your feedback. This was my mistake and I take full responsibility for dropping the ball. During all the confusion of trying to get the door delivered my father unexpectedly passed away in Michigan. I had to take some unanticipated time off to attend the funeral and tried my best to notify all my customers. Things were very hectic at that time and I inadvertently forgot to contact you. I sincerely apologize for any inconveniences I may have caused and would be more than happy to assist you with your door if you are open to giving me another chance. If so, please send me a message on Angie's List and I will respond right away. Thank you."
I contacted him a week ago via email (Friday). Did not receive a reply until Monday morning. He said he'd been on vacation. We scheduled a time for him to come to my home on Wednesday evening to price out another job. Pretty sizeable job, since I have six large holes in walls that need to be repaired. (We had a water leak in February & the holes were made to detect where the leak was & to repair the leak.) I also wanted a lighting fixture hung. He didn't show up & never responded to my (very polite) voice message asking where he was.
I will not use this company again b/c apparently they don't need my business & a simple return call is too much trouble.
