"Service date was August 25, 2020. Appointment was made from one day to the next. Our service person was Aaron Taylor. He did an outstanding job and saved us over $2,500.00, by providing a thorough complimentary camera inspection of our main sewer line from the outside (no mess inside), in order to provide us with an accurate estimate and diagnosis. I had a previous company come in, where they wrongly diagnosed roots in the pipes and that they would have to dig underneath our home from the outside to get to the toilet pipe and replace it. Upon the camera inspection, which Aaron shared with me and after talking to his Manager, Jake, they recommended we do a hydroscrub to clean and clear the clog, which was found through the main sewer line. As soon as that was done, our toilet flushed normal again and there was no issue with roots that they could see. Needless to say, we were relieved and grateful that we got a second opinion and that we found a company with the right equipment and knowledgeable staff, who wanted to do the job right at a fair price. Based on all of the above, I would highly recommend them and will certainly call them again. P.S. They follow all safety protocols."

"When the plumber arrived he seemed to have no knowledge of what I had told the central office I wanted done.
Simple ,  remove toilet , install a new one which was unboxed and waiting in the garage, and  replace the shutoff valve.
I had purchased a replacement shutoff valve from Home Depot,  90 degree rotation, metal valve. Cost was less then $15.  When I showed it to the plumber he told me he would prefer not to use it and would prefer to install his own.  He said he considered the Home Depot valve a 'temporary' valve.  I agreed to use his valve instead of the home depot valve, and out  comes the rate book where he pointed out that the standard cost for shut off valve replacement was over $200,  which of course was BS, that cost included the service call etc.  He then said it would cost $80.  Seemed high for a $15 valve which was easily installed in less than 10 minutes with the toilet removed.
I looked up to see the plumber carrying the old toilet down my hallway and then out the front door, with a steady stream of water running out of the toilet , not a dripping , but a steady stream, all over my wood flooring.  When he began cleaning it up with a couple of rags, I offered to mop it, and did so.
The new shutoff valve was easily installed, the new toilet seated and the bill paid.
After he left I noticed that the plumber applied the 10% discount for Angies list members only to the toilet installation and not to the shutoff valve replacement cost,  not a lot of money , but not a good indicator.
I asked a plumber friend about the quality of the quality of the metal, 90 degree rotation, shutoff valve I had purchased at Home Depot and he told me it was an acceptable valve and would have installed easily and if necessary, removed easily.
There are a lot of high rated plumbers on Angies List,  I would not call this one again.

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

To prevent drain clogs, perform regular maintenance and cleaning. Avoid disposing of substances like grease or coffee grounds down the sink. Additionally, installing and routinely using drain strainers can help catch debris and prevent blockages from forming.

If you’re wondering whether rats can come up the toilet, the unfortunate answer is yes, it’s possible, though it’s extremely rare. These rodents are excellent swimmers and can travel through sewer pipes in search of food, and they may follow plumbing lines leading to your home if they’re drawn by the scent of scraps and waste. The toilet’s U-bend holds a small pocket of air, which can help a rat catch its breath before making its final push into your bathroom. While more common in cities with larger rat populations, this can happen anywhere with connected sewer systems; sealing entry points and keeping drains clean can help reduce the risk.

Most blockages can be cleared in 1-3 hours, but severe issues may take longer.

The best practice is to clean the sewer drain lines in your home once a year or every two years. Older homes could require more frequent maintenance. Keeping up on cleaning your sewer lines can prevent severe clogs, help ensure your system is working properly, and prevent expensive repairs.

As a preventative measure, hydro jetting should be done every one to two years. However, the best practice is to hydro jet your sewer line once per year. The ideal frequency depends on several factors, including the age and condition of your pipes, how prone they are to clogging, how often the sewer line is used, and the type of waste disposed of in the system. If you frequently experience clogs or are unsure, it's best to ask a licensed plumber for a recommendation specific to your plumbing system.
