"Johnny and his Dad removed our old shed and assembled a new one. They were very good at removing anything we no longer needed and did a super job on our new shed. They were courteous, timely, and their price was very reasonable. They did everything to perfection. We will definitely use the services of Vasile Build by Design again."

"I had 5 large mulberry trees that over hung my dwelling that both my insurance company and fire department insisted be removed before I could qualify for a fire abatement letter and insurance coverage. All the trees were removed in a single days time with no damage to the dwellings roof or property and the debris was cleaned up and disposed of too ! Bill and his crew were great !"

"Excellent professional service on a big job. Tree removal and trim, weed-whacking, yard cleanup, cutting up railroad ties and hauling away tons of resulting debris - all in tight and difficult places to work and park in Old Bisbee. Malcolm and his workers were wonderful to work with and the cost was quite reasonable. I'm so glad that I hired them and will call them again."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Sometimes, knowing when you need tree-trimming services is straightforward, and other times, you have to do some investigating. Some tell-tale signs that you should have your tree trimmed include:

  • A poorly-formed tree with unruly branches, which makes the tree appear odd-shaped.

  • A tree with tall or large branches that interfere with power lines or your home’s exterior.

  • A tree that provides too much shade in the yard due to branch overgrowth.

There are a few general rules to follow that will help you prune your trees correctly. One of the most important rules is to prune during the correct season for the type of tree you have. Typically, pruning should be during late winter. For younger trees, you should not remove more than a ⅓ of the tree's crown when pruning. Also, remember to remove dead and diseased branches first, then proceed with pruning the rest of the tree.

Some trees, such as silver maples, birches, sycamores, and scotch pines, shed their bark naturally. If your tree is not one that does this, it might have fallen prey to pests, fungi, or diseases. It could also simply be suffering from an extreme weather change, such as a snowstorm or heat wave. If you’re still stumped, consulting with a pro can help you diagnose your tree’s specific problem.

Talking with a septic pro before planting trees near your tank is best to ensure the roots won’t interfere with your septic system. However, there is an easy way to figure out where to plant a tree—but you’ll need to know how tall it can get when it’s fully grown. For instance, if the tree can reach 50 feet, plant it at least 50 feet from your septic system.

Using vinegar to kill tree roots is just one of the clever ways to use vinegar around the house. The method works best when you apply vinegar as directly to the root system as possible. For example, if the old tree roots and stump are currently exposed, drill holes in the tops of the roots and pour undiluted white vinegar into the holes to soak into the plant. Remember that vinegar can kill the surrounding grass and plants should it pour over the edge.
