If you prefer not to use a commercial cleaning product on your pink mold issue, or on other types of mold you are seeing in your bathroom, there are some natural mold killer products that you can use. You can try substances that you may already have in your home, like vinegar, tea tree oil, hydrogen peroxide, lemon juice, and baking soda.

You do need dampers in your HVAC system, but they do help to regulate airflow and give you better control of the temperature in each room of your home. Most HVAC systems will have dampers installed, but this isn't always the case. If you don’t have designated zones in your home, you’ll likely still have valve control dampers on your supply vents for manual control.

A mild skunk smell in your house can last up to three weeks, dissipating over time with proper ventilation. However, if you leave stronger smells untreated, they can last for months or years, becoming more difficult to remove the longer they sit. This is especially true of odors that have seeped into fabrics such as clothing or furniture or those in your pets’ fur.

Whether an HVAC damper should be open or closed depends on the season, the zone it controls, and the temperature in that zone. In the summer, open upstairs dampers and close lower-level dampers to get the most efficient cooling possible. In the winter, do the opposite. Cool air will naturally flow down to lower levels, while warm air will rise. This keeps your system from working harder and helps prevent common AC problems.

Ductwork will occasionally make noise as the metal experiences rapid temperature or air pressure changes. This is especially common when the furnace initially kicks on and pushes warm air into cold air ducts. However, this noise should not occur if the home is at a normal temperature most of the time. If you are hearing noises regularly, it may be a sign of a more serious problem.
